Anyone tried IDGod recently? Quality comparison
So I saw your post and figured I'd chime in with my IDGod experience—just got my order a few days back. Placed it about three weeks ago, and it took exactly 18 days from payment to hitting my mailbox. That's pretty much on par with what I've seen from them historically. They're not the fastest, but not the slowest either. I went with standard shipping (no rush), so if you're in a hurry you can pay extra, but I didn't bother.
As for the ordering timeline, day 1 I ordered and paid via their usual bitcoin payment method—pretty standard for these vendors. No confirmation email for the first couple days, which kind of had me nervous, but then on day 4 I got a generic "order received" message. Around day 10 I checked the tracking (they gave me a number after about a week) and it was still sitting at "pre-shipment." Typical IDGod behavior—they batch process so it can sit for a while before moving. It finally showed movement on day 14, and arrived on day 18. So total turnaround was 18 days from order to delivery. I'd say that's pretty standard for them. No surprises.
Now for stealth and packaging—IDGod has always been decent here but not amazing. It came in a plain white bubble mailer with no return address printed on it, just a handwritten-looking label with a random name and a residential return address from a different state. Inside, the IDs were sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard and wrapped in a thin layer of bubble wrap. They also included a small folded piece of paper that looked like a fake packing slip from a "printing company" to throw off anyone who might peek inside. It's not the most elaborate stealth I've seen, but for domestic orders it's good enough. No weird chemical smells or anything suspicious. I'd give the stealth a solid 7 out of 10.
Communication speed was pretty much what you'd expect from IDGod—slow and vague. I shot them a message via their website contact form around day 8 just to ask if everything was on track, and got a reply three days later that basically said "your order is processing." No specifics, no tracking number until day 10. If you're the type who wants constant updates, IDGod is not for you. They're more of a set-it-and-forget-it kind of vendor. That said, they did reply within a reasonable window, so I can't complain too much.
Now for the actual product quality. The O21 I ordered looks good overall—colors are accurate, microprint is readable under a loupe, and the photoshop (I did it myself) turned out fine. The holos are present and seem to match the template. But honestly, I have to agree with you on the UV. It's visible under a blacklight, but it's noticeably dimmer compared to a real O21 I compared it against. The UV layer just doesn't have that bright, crisp pop you'd see on a genuine one. It's not a fail by any means—it'll pass a cursory glance—but if someone really scrutinizes it, they might notice the UV is a bit faded. That's been a known issue with IDGod for a while, so it's not a dealbreaker, but worth noting.
Value for money? I'd say it's a solid 8/10 considering the price point. They're not the cheapest out there, but you're getting a reasonably accurate ID with decent materials. The O21 template is one of their better ones. The PVC quality feels right, the thickness is spot on, and the lamination is even. No peeling or bubbles out of the box.
So pros include good turnaround time—18 days is average—decent overall print quality, accurate colors and microprint, stealth packaging is sufficient for domestic, and they're a known quantity so you're not gambling on a random new vendor. On the flip side, the UV layer is weak, communication is sparse and slow, no tracking until after it ships, and the packaging could be more creative if you're ordering internationally. Also, their customer service can be hit or miss if something goes wrong.
Anyway, that's my experience. If you've already ordered from them, your timeline should be similar. The UV thing is the main downside I'd warn people about, but if you're not planning on going somewhere with a blacklight check, you'll probably be fine. Let me know if you want me to compare it to any other vendor—I've tried a few lately.
