Cant log into my account

Same thing happened to me last week. I was trying to log in and kept getting that “invalid credentials” error, even though I was 100% sure I typed the right password. Tried the forgot password link, waited for the reset email—nothing came through for like 20 minutes. Honestly, I thought the site was down or my account got nuked.

Turns out it was the spam folder all along. The reset email landed in there because the forum’s mail server uses a different domain than the main site, so Gmail flagged it. If you’re using something like Outlook or Yahoo, I’ve seen them bounce these to the Junk folder automatically too. So check your spam/junk folder first, and also peek into “Promotions” if you’re on Gmail—that’s another common hiding spot. While you’re at it, search your inbox for the forum’s domain name (like @forumname.com or whatever) in case it got filtered to a subfolder you forgot about.

If you still don’t see the email, try resending the reset request from a different browser or incognito mode—sometimes cached cookies mess with the submission. Oh, and double-check that you’re using the exact email you signed up with; I’ve made that mistake before, using one alias instead of another. Once you find the reset link, use it right away because they often expire within an hour. Set a new strong password and you should be good.

To prevent this in the future, add the forum’s support email address to your contacts list or create a filter to always move their messages to your main inbox. Some vendors also let you enable two‑factor auth, and that sends codes through a separate channel like SMS or an authenticator app, bypassing email delivery issues entirely. If you keep having problems, check the FAQ for the correct support email and send them a ticket—they can manually reset your account or whitelist your email on their end.
