Common mistakes I made as a newbie - learn from me!
Featured
Hey everyone! I've been using this forum and ordering IDs for about 6 months now. Looking back, I made some pretty dumb mistakes when I first started. Thought I'd share them so others can avoid the same issues:
**Mistake #1: Ordered from a non-verified vendor**
Saw a vendor advertising super cheap prices on another site. Didn't check if they were on the verified vendor list. Got scammed, lost $80. Always stick to vendors listed here!
**Mistake #2: Used a bad photo**
Took a selfie in my bathroom with terrible lighting and shadows on my face. The ID came back looking terrible. Should have read the photo requirements in the guidelines first.
**Mistake #3: Ordered my own state**
Got an ID for the state I actually live in. Big mistake - too easy for people to spot fakes when they see them all the time. Out of state is smarter.
**Mistake #4: Didn't check reviews first**
Ordered from a vendor without reading reviews. Turns out they were known for slow shipping. Waited 7 weeks.
**Mistake #5: No backup plan**
Ordered just one ID right before I needed it. It got delayed and I was screwed. Always order early and consider getting a duplicate!
What mistakes did you guys make when starting out? Let's help the newbies avoid these pitfalls!

Biggest mistake I see newbies make: Bragging about their fake ID on social media or to too many people. Keep it to yourself!
The more people who know, the higher the risk. Don't post photos of it online, don't tell random people, and definitely don't let people at school/work know.
Loose lips sink ships. Be smart about it.

This is super helpful! My biggest mistake was giving my real date of birth instead of the fake one I wanted on the ID. Didn't realize some vendors auto-fill it if you don't specify.
Now I have an ID that makes me like 6 months younger than I actually am instead of the 3 years I was going for lmao. Still works though.
Always double-check EVERYTHING before submitting your order!

Great list! I'll add: Don't use your real name if you're ordering online. I used my real first name and it caused confusion when the ID arrived with my fake name. Almost didn't recognize the package.
Also, save all your order details (fake name, DOB, address on the ID, etc.) in a secure note on your phone. You need to memorize this info!

Another one: Not checking if there are active coupon codes before ordering. I paid full price and then found out there was a 20% off code the next day. Always check for discounts first!
Also, some vendors offer group discounts if you order 2+ IDs. Good if you have friends ordering too.

I made the mistake of using my ID the same day it arrived without checking it first. Turned out the signature was completely wrong - they had used the wrong image file.
Always inspect your ID carefully when it arrives BEFORE trying to use it. Check every detail: photo, signature, birthdate, address, expiration date, holograms, etc.
If there's an issue, contact the vendor immediately. Most have reprint policies for errors.

My mistake: Didn't read the forum rules and posted a vendor's website URL in a thread. Got a warning from mods. Don't share direct links to vendor sites publicly!
Also, don't DM other users asking where to order. Just read the vendor list and reviews.
