Complete newbie - where do I even start?

posted by unknown8000 10 months ago 1,001 views 5 comments
Hey everyone, I'm completely new to this and honestly a bit overwhelmed. I've read through some threads but there's so much information. Basic questions: 1. How do I know which vendors are legit vs scams? 2. What's a reasonable price range? 3. How long does the whole process usually take? 4. Is it safer to order domestic or international? Sorry if these are dumb questions. Just want to make sure I don't get scammed or make rookie mistakes. Any guidance would be super appreciated!

Welcome! Not dumb questions at all. Here are some quick answers: 1. Check the vendor list and verified vendors section. Read recent reviews. If a vendor asks for payment via Western Union or gift cards, that's usually a red flag. 2. Expect to pay $75-150 for a decent quality ID. Anything way cheaper is probably garbage or a scam. 3. Domestic is usually 1-2 weeks, international can be 3-4 weeks. 4. Domestic is faster and less risk of customs issues, but international vendors often have better prices. Read the newbie guide pinned at the top of this section!

Also pro tip: order from a state you don't live in. Using an ID from your own state is risky because bouncers/cashiers know the local IDs better.

Most vendors accept Bitcoin, some also take Ethereum or Litecoin. A few accept Venmo/CashApp but that's less common. Crypto is preferred because it's more anonymous. If you're new to crypto, use Coinbase or another beginner-friendly exchange.

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. I'll check out the pinned guide. One more question - is Bitcoin the main payment method or are there other options?
