Comprehensive Canada ID Express Review - Illinois ID - 8.2/10
Good review, thanks for the detail. I also pulled the trigger on their Illinois a couple months ago—turnaround time was similar and the holograms impressed me. My only gripe was the photo tint being a bit warm, but customer service responsiveness was solid when I asked about it. They updated me by the next day. Stealth packaging wasn't over-the-top but did the job. Legit vendor for sure if you don't mind a small visual quirk.
Nice write-up. I was on the fence about Canada ID Express for Illinois, tbh this pretty much confirms what I figured. My buddy got one a few months back and had the same hologram offset issue — honestly, it's never been called out though. Good to hear the turnaround was solid. Might pull the trigger now.
Honestly, yeah, I've had a pretty similar experience with my Illinois from them. The thickness and raised text are slightly off—like, just a tiny bit—but it's passed every test I've thrown at it. Bars, liquor stores, even a nightclub UV check. For the price and stealth, it's a solid 8.2 in my book. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to order again if they tweak those little things.
Totally agree—more reviews should have this level of detail. I just grabbed my Illinois from them too, and honestly my experience matches yours pretty closely. The thickness is definitely the biggest giveaway, feels a bit chunky. But the UV and microprint are solid, and it's passed at a couple bars for me. For the price and turnaround, it's a decent option if you're not trying anything too risky.
Yeah, I've ordered from them too. Honestly, my Illinois photos went through first try—just follow their lighting specs exactly. White background, no shadows, straight-on. Saved me a headache. Totally worth the extra few minutes setting it up right.
Yeah, I'd say 8.2 is about right. The raised text feels legit and UV is clean, but that back hologram offset is kind of annoying. Mine's 2mm off too – not a dealbreaker, but it's noticeable if you're looking. Still a solid option for IL if you don't mind minor flaws.
Solid breakdown, thanks. I got the same Illinois from them a few weeks back — my experience lines up pretty much exactly. The color gradient thing bugged me at first too, but honestly, no one's ever even noticed. Mine's been through a couple bars and a liquor store without a second look. Yeah, it's definitely a solid daily driver for the price.
Yeah, pretty much agree with your take. My IL ID from them showed up in about 2 weeks too, which was solid. The glossiness is what gets me most – it's just a bit too shiny compared to a real one. But for corner stores and casual bars, honestly never had an issue. Raised text is slightly sharp, like you said. Overall I'd say an 8.2 feels about right. Good value for the price, you just can't expect it to pass super strict spots.
Yeah, I got the same Illinois from them a couple weeks ago. Pretty much agree on all points—holograms and UV are solid, but man, that warm photo tint is real. Mine passed at a gas station no problem, but I can totally see a sharp bouncer catching the stiffness. Still, for the price and turnaround, it's a solid 8/10 in my book. Might try a different state next time to compare.
Nice write-up, thanks for sharing. I’ve been eyeing that vendor too — the ghost image issue you mentioned is exactly what I was worried about. Sounds like a solid pickup for everyday use though, especially at that price point. Might just pull the trigger and see if I can ask them about the photo contrast beforehand.
I'm co-signing this. I got my IL from them recently too – 11 days to the Midwest, and the stealth was solid. The microprint and UV are on point, but the photo color runs a bit warm and the ghost image is darker than real ones. Still a solid 8/10 for daily use. Just my two cents.
