OldIronSides does accept Monero. I confirmed this directly during a recent order and want to document it concisely since the information in forum threads is inconsistent — some older posts suggest they only accept Bitcoin, and the payment page on their site isn't entirely clear about which crypto options are available until you get to checkout.
The way it works: at checkout, when you reach the payment step, there's a dropdown or option selection for payment method. Monero appears as an option alongside Bitcoin. Selecting Monero generates a Monero wallet address and a payment amount in XMR based on the current exchange rate at the time you click through. The rate is locked for about thirty minutes, which is enough time to complete a Monero transaction if your wallet is set up and funded in advance.
One practical note: the XMR amount shown reflects a rate pulled at the moment the payment page loads. If there's a significant price movement in the thirty-minute window and you miss the timer, the payment page reloads with a new rate. I've had one session where I had to refresh and recalculate because I got distracted during the payment window. This isn't a problem if you have your Monero wallet ready before starting checkout.
OldIronSides processes Monero payments after one confirmation, which typically takes about ten to fifteen minutes from when you broadcast the transaction. Status updates to "payment confirmed" in my experience about twenty to thirty minutes after sending. This is comparable to what I've seen from other vendors using Monero.
If you prefer Monero over Bitcoin for privacy reasons — and there are good reasons to — OldIronSides is compatible with that preference. Just have your wallet and funds set up before you start the checkout process rather than during it.
One additional note: OldIronSides does not charge a fee or apply a different exchange rate for Monero versus Bitcoin. The price of the order in USD is the same regardless of which crypto you choose, with the crypto amount calculated at the current rate at checkout time.
