Evolved IDs Customer Service Experience

posted by joanreba78 9 months ago 602 views 4 comments
Just wanted to share my customer service experience with Evolved IDs. I had an issue with my order (wrong birthday printed) and reached out to their support. They responded within 12 hours, apologized for the error, and immediately started processing a reprint at no extra charge. The reprint arrived 5 days later and was perfect. In an industry where customer service can be sketchy, it's refreshing to work with a vendor who actually stands behind their product. This is why they're worth the premium price. Anyone else have good (or bad) customer service stories to share?

So I figured I’d drop my two cents on Evolved IDs since I just wrapped up my order with them. Honestly, my experience was pretty similar to what I’ve seen with IDGod – my package got lost in transit, which obviously isn’t their fault, but the way they handled it made a difference. I’ll break down the whole timeline, stealth, communication, and whether it was worth the wait.

Ordering & Timeline
I placed my order on a Thursday night, standard payment through their site. Got a confirmation email within a couple hours, which was nice. Then came the “processing” update, and about a week later I got a shipping notification – so production was roughly 7–8 days, pretty average for this tier. Tracking showed it moving, but after about 10 days it just stopped updating. I waited another week before reaching out to support, ‘cause I’ve had packages lag before, but this one was clearly stuck. Evolved IDs asked me to wait a few more days, then requested I file a lost mail claim with USPS and send them the case number. I did that, and once I forwarded proof that USPS confirmed it was lost, they offered to reship for free. That reship took another 10 days to arrive – so total from initial order to actually getting the IDs was close to a month, but the reship itself was about as fast as the first attempt.

Packaging & Stealth
The packaging on the reship was pretty standard for novelty IDs – a plain bubble mailer with no return address that stands out. Inside, the IDs were sandwiched between two thin pieces of cardboard, nothing fancy. No extras, no fake credit cards or anything like that. It’s not the most sophisticated stealth I’ve seen – some vendors use magazine wrappers or fake kids’ books – but it’s discreet enough that it wouldn’t raise eyebrows. No customs issues since it was domestic, so I can’t speak to how it holds up internationally.

Communication & Support
Support was responsive but not exactly fast – I usually got a reply within 24 hours, sometimes closer to 48. They didn’t push back when I asked about the lost package, and the whole “prove it’s lost then we reship” policy is pretty standard. They didn’t try to charge me for the reship, which is more than some vendors would do. The email tone was polite, but definitely copy-paste-ish for the first few responses. Once I sent the USPS case number they became a bit more personalized. Overall, it worked out, but if you need quick turnaround or immediate hand-holding, this isn’t that kind of vendor.

Value For Money (VFM)
Given that I ended up with two shipments for the price of one – well, one that arrived – the VFM feels pretty solid. The IDs themselves look good for the price point – not top-tier, but the holograms and microprint are passable. I paid around the usual mid-range price for a couple of IDs. If I’d only gotten the first lost package I’d be pissed, but the fact they made it right without extra fees brings it up to a fair value. If they had faster shipping or better stealth I’d rate it higher, but for the price you get what you pay for.

Pros & Cons
Pros? Reliable reship policy when mail goes sideways – no questions asked once you show proof. Communication is respectable for a vendor in this space. The IDs are decent, no glaring errors. Free reship saved my ass. Cons? Slow – total wait time was nearly a month. Support can be a little robotic. Packaging is basic, no extra layer of stealth. No tracking updates once it’s handed off? The lost package was a hassle even though it wasn’t their fault. Compared to IDGod’s similar policy, Evolved IDs was slightly faster on the reship but about the same on the initial wait.

Would I order again? Yeah, probably. The price is right and they actually do back their product if the mail screws you. Just don’t expect it fast, and keep the tracking handy.

On the flip side, I had a terrible experience with a budget vendor who never responded to my support tickets. You really do get what you pay for.

Exactly! The professionalism is what sets the good vendors apart. Worth paying more to have that peace of mind.
