Evolved IDs vs IDGod - which one for group orders?
So I figured I'd throw my two cents in since I've actually done a group order with Evolved and seen plenty of IDGod cards from friends. Short answer: for a group of 10 or more, Evolved is the better bet unless you're really pinching pennies. Here's the full breakdown.
Ordering & Timeline
We placed the order right at the start of last semester – 10 IDs total. Evolved offers a 15% group discount for 10+ which brought the price down to around $110 each. That's about $20-30 more than what my friends paid for IDGod during their group buys. Payment was straightforward, though I remember the order confirmation took about a day to land in my inbox. Communication was solid – I sent a quick follow-up about the shipping address and got a reply within a few hours. From order to doorstep it was exactly 12 days, which was faster than I expected for a batch. No tracking updates in the middle, but it showed up when they said it would.
Packaging & Stealth
The envelope looked completely standard – bubble mailer, no return address that raised eyebrows, just a plain label. Inside each card was wrapped in a slip of paper, no obvious ID-related branding or packaging. No extra inserts or anything to draw attention. If someone saw the package, they'd think it was just a generic piece of mail. My friend's IDGod came in a similar setup, so about the same stealth level for both.
Quality & Performance
This is where Evolved really pulls ahead, honestly. The card stock feels noticeably thicker and more rigid than the IDGod one – like, you can feel the difference. The UV, specifically the state-specific patterns (I won't say which state, but you know what I mean), were crisp and clearly visible under a blacklight. Scanned perfectly at three different bars and a convenience store – no issues at all. My friend's IDGod actually failed a scan once (clerk said it didn't read) and the UV was fainter, easier to tell it wasn't legit if someone was really looking. The microprint on Evolved is also sharper – you need a loupe to see it clearly, which is exactly how the real ones work. The holos catch the light well too. Only downside? The raised text on the Evolved feels a little more raised than real DMV cards, but not something an average bouncer would notice or feel for.
VFM (Value for Money)
Honestly, for the extra $20-30 per ID, Evolved is worth it. The peace of mind from knowing it'll scan and pass UV checks is huge. IDGod is cheaper, sure, but if even one card fails or gets called out, that's a whole group buy's worth of hassle. I'd rate Evolved a solid 8.5/10 for value considering the group discount – it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. IDGod maybe a 6/10 – you save money but sacrifice reliability.
Pros & Cons Summary
As for the pros and cons, here's how they stack up. Evolved gives you perfect UV, flawless scans, fast shipping at 12 days, decent communication, and a group discount. The card stock and microprint are high-quality. On the downside, it's a bit pricier than budget vendors, the raised text is a little too prominent, and you don't get tracking updates during shipping. IDGod is cheaper – around $80-90 each in a group buy – and offers the same basic functionality. But you're looking at a softer card, weaker UV, occasional scan failures, and longer shipping times (closer to three weeks in my friend's experience).
If you're doing a big group order and can split the cost, go with Evolved. If everyone's on a tight budget and willing to risk the occasional fail, IDGod might work, but don't expect the same level of confidence.
