First time ordering - what should I know?

posted by rachlilly 9 months ago 493 views 5 comments

Hey, I remember being in your exact spot not too long ago. Totally normal to be nervous — this isn't exactly something you can ask a friend for advice about. I've learned a lot since then, so let me break it down step by step so you don't make the rookie mistakes I did.

First off, the most important thing? Research. Don't just pick the first vendor you see. Look for reviews on multiple forums, check if people are posting actual scans or real photos, and pay attention to how long the vendor's been around. A vendor that's been active for a year or more is usually more reliable than someone who just popped up. Key terms you'll want to know: "dupe" means another person's identity that looks like you, "stealth shipping" refers to packaging that hides the ID so it doesn't look suspicious, and "crypto" is usually Bitcoin or Monero — which is what you should be using for payment.

For payments, never use credit cards, PayPal, CashApp, or anything linked to your real identity. Cryptocurrency is the way to go. Most vendors accept Bitcoin, but Monero is even better because it's more private. If you use Bitcoin, make sure to "tumble" or mix your coins so the transaction isn't easily traced back to you. Some vendors also offer a "cash by mail" option but that can be risky because it leaves a paper trail. Honestly, stick with crypto if you can.

Shipping is where a lot of newbies slip up. Never have the ID sent to your home or dorm. Use a clean drop address — maybe a friend's place if they're cool with it, or a rented mailbox that doesn't require ID upfront. Check the vendor's shipping timeframes and track the package carefully. Some vendors use stealth packaging that looks like a birthday card or a small magazine. That's good — if it looks official or has a return address that's clearly fake, that's a red flag. Also, order well in advance of when you actually need the ID because delays happen.

Here's a safety checklist I wish someone had given me:

  • Use a VPN — no free ones — and browse in incognito mode when visiting forums or vendor sites.
  • Never use your real name, email, or phone number. Create a separate email just for this.
  • Check for "scam warnings" on the forum before sending any money.
  • Consider making a small "test order" if the vendor offers samples — it's cheaper to lose a little than a lot.
  • Wait for others to receive their orders before you jump in. Look for "received" posts with photos.

Common mistakes I've seen people make: ordering a state that's way too close to where they live (bad idea — you want a state that's not too common but not too exotic), using their real photo with a distinctive background (use a plain white wall), and not checking the UV template — some cheap IDs have obvious errors under blacklight. Also, don't be impatient and blow up the vendor's inbox. They're usually busy and will get to you when they can.

Take your time, read the forums, and don't rush into anything. The first order is always the scariest, but with the right precautions you'll be fine. Let me know if you have any more specific questions — happy to help.

Welcome! My advice:
- Read the vendor reviews section thoroughly
- Never rush, cheap and fast usually means low quality
- Always order duplicates in case one gets taken
- Don't use it at the same place every time

Bitcoin is definitely the way to go for payment. It's anonymous and most vendors prefer it anyway.

For shipping, make sure you use a safe address. I always ship to my actual address, using a fake name looks way more suspicious if it gets checked.

Don't stress too much about it. Just do your research on vendors (check reviews here) and you'll be fine. Most of us have ordered multiple times without any issues.

Honestly the hardest part is just picking a vendor lol. Once you order it's pretty smooth. Just be patient with shipping times, it usually takes 1-2 weeks.
