How to check if your ID will pass the bend test?
Just received my ID and I want to make sure it's good quality before trying to use it. I know bouncers sometimes do the "bend test" where they flex the ID to check if it's legit.
What exactly should I be looking for? How flexible should a real ID be vs a fake one? Any tips on testing this without damaging the ID?

Real IDs made with Teslin (like most newer state IDs) should be pretty flexible - you can bend them almost in half without creasing. PVC IDs (older style) are more rigid. Compare yours to a real ID from the same state if you can get your hands on one.
Don't bend it too hard when testing though. Just a gentle flex should be enough to tell.

Also check for air bubbles or delamination when you bend it slightly. If the laminate is separating from the card, that's a dead giveaway it's fake. Good vendors use proper lamination so this shouldn't be an issue but always worth checking.

The bend test is overrated tbh. Most bouncers don't even do it anymore because modern fakes have the right materials. They're more likely to check the UV, holograms, or use a scanner. Still good to make sure yours flexes naturally though.
