ID scans but gets rejected by Box Scanner app
My ID from EvolvedIDs scans fine with regular barcode scanners but when I tested it with the Box Scanner app (the one that validates ID data), it shows an error.
The ID has worked at actual places without problems. Should I be worried about this? Is the Box Scanner app more strict than what real businesses use?

Same thing happened to me. Turned out the PDF417 string format was slightly off — one wrong character and Box Scanner won't parse it properly. Try scanning it with a different app to confirm. If it scans fine elsewhere, it's the app doing strict checksum validation, not your DL being bad. AAMVA stuff is picky like that.

That usually means the barcode is dead on the back even if it still looks fine to the eye. Box Scanner runs its own AAMVA compliance thing, so if the checksum validation fails it just chucks it. Try swapping the app you're getting it verified with.
