IDBook vs IDLucy - Which one ships faster?
So I've ordered from both IDBook and IDLucy, and since you're asking about shipping speed specifically, I figured I'd lay out my full experience with each. A lot of people are after that balance between turnaround time and final quality, so hopefully this helps. Keep in mind this is all based on my personal orders, not trying to say one is objectively better across the board.
Ordering Timeline & Shipping
I placed orders for the same state with both vendors just a day apart to try to get a fair comparison. IDLucy processed and shipped noticeably faster – I ordered on a Monday, got a confirmation same day, and it was in the mail by Thursday. Total door-to-door for IDLucy was about 12 days. IDBook took longer to move from "processing" to "shipped." They confirmed my order within 24 hours but then it sat for almost a week before they handed it off to the carrier. That order arrived around day 19. So IDLucy was roughly a week faster, maybe a bit more, like a full 7–8 days quicker.
Packaging & Stealth
Both came in plain bubble mailers with no logos or anything that screams "fake IDs." IDBook's packaging felt a little more secure – they used a cardboard insert to keep the card from bending, and the outer envelope was slightly thicker. IDLucy's was just the card in a sleeve inside the bubble mailer, no extra reinforcement. Neither one had any customs declaration issues for domestic shipping. For stealth inside the package, IDBook had the card wrapped in a piece of paper with no obvious markings, while IDLucy just put it in a plastic sleeve. Both ways were fine, but IDBook's method felt slightly more discreet if someone were to accidentally open it.
Communication Speed
I didn't have any major issues that required back-and-forth with either vendor, so communication was minimal. With IDLucy, I sent one email about a typo concern before they printed, and they replied within a few hours, which was solid. IDBook took about 24 hours to respond to a similar question. Neither left me hanging for days. So edge to IDLucy on response time, but both were acceptable for a novelty vendor.
Value for Money (VFM)
Hard to put an exact number on it because prices fluctuate, but for the price I paid on each order, IDLucy was cheaper overall. IDBook cost a bit more, and you're paying partly for the holos. For someone on a budget who needs something quickly and is okay with average holograms, IDLucy gives good VFM. If you need the best-looking holos and can wait an extra week, IDBook is worth the premium. I'd rate IDLucy 7/10 and IDBook 8/10 on VFM considering both price and quality.
Specific Pros & Cons
IDLucy Pros: Fast turnaround and shipping – genuinely a week faster than IDBook in my experience; good communication speed; lower price point; easy ordering process. Cons: Holos are okay but noticeably softer and less defined; packaging was a bit too simple – no protection against bending; the card felt slightly thinner compared to IDBook's.
IDBook Pros: Best holograms I've seen from this category – sharp, detailed, and placed accurately; better packaging with cardboard insert; overall card feel is closer to a real ID. Cons: Shipping took nearly three weeks from order to arrival, so not ideal if you're in a hurry; slightly more expensive; customer service replies were a bit slower.
Bottom line – if speed is your main thing, go IDLucy. If you want the card to look more legit and can handle the wait, IDBook is the better bet. I'll probably use IDBook again for my next order since the holos really matter to me, but I can see why someone would pick IDLucy for a rush job.
