IDGod post office shipping

IDGod used USPS for my most recent delivery, which was different from the DHL handoff I've gotten on previous orders. Here's how the experience compared.

Transit and tracking

The package originated overseas and the first US scan appeared nine days after the shipping notification. That's consistent with what I expect — customs processing adds time that doesn't show up in the tracking. Once it entered the USPS domestic network the tracking updated twice more before delivery: an "in transit" scan at a regional facility and a "out for delivery" scan the morning it arrived. The total time from shipping notification to delivery was sixteen days.

Tracking updates were more frequent once it hit USPS than I'd get with ePacket, which tends to go quiet for the last leg of domestic transit. The USPS tracking page showed the package's location with reasonable granularity.

Packaging on arrival

Outer packaging was a standard letter-size bubble mailer. No external indication of contents. The return address showed a business name and a domestic US address — nothing connecting it to an overseas origin. Inside was a cardboard stiffener with the card in a plastic sleeve between two pieces of card stock. The card was not damaged despite the packaging being slightly bent at one corner where a postal worker had apparently jammed it into my mailbox.

USPS delivery is less predictable timing-wise than DHL for this kind of shipment — DHL tends to hit their estimated windows more consistently. But USPS blends in more naturally with regular mail, which has operational advantages. The sixteen-day total was slightly faster than my DHL orders have averaged, which I attribute more to luck with customs timing than to carrier speed.

For future USPS IDGod deliveries: enable USPS Informed Delivery before your expected delivery window. The scans feed into that dashboard and you'll get an email notification the morning of delivery, which takes some of the uncertainty out of the final leg.

I pulled the trigger on an IDGod order a few months back and the post office part was honestly the least stressful bit. Took a bit longer than the posted turnaround time, but customer service responsiveness was fine when I emailed. Idk if it's still a legit vendor since I've seen mixed stuff lately, but mine came through. Just check tracking closely and hang tight, nothing sketchy happened with USPS for me.
