IDGod restocked - anyone tried recently?

Their quality has been consistent from what I've seen. Just be patient with shipping since they're international.

Hey, saw the restock announcement too. Figured I'd throw my experience in since I just got my order from them a few days ago. I was on the fence because last time I went with IDGod was over a year ago, but the price was right and I needed a backup.

Ordering Timeline: I placed my order on a Tuesday evening, got the payment confirmation email within about 6 hours. Then total radio silence for what felt like forever. No updates for 8 days, which had me pretty nervous. On day 9 I got a "production complete" email, then another 3 days before I got a tracking number. The tracking showed it shipped that same day, but then it sat in the origin country for another 5 days before moving. All in, it was 23 days from order to doorstep. So yeah, the "almost a month" claim is accurate — if you need it for a specific event, order at least 5 weeks ahead to be safe.

Packaging Stealth: It came in a plain, slightly padded white poly mailer with no return address that would raise eyebrows — just a standard first-class stamp from the origin country. Inside, the two IDs were taped between two pieces of corrugated cardboard with a rubber band holding them tight. No extra paper, no invoice, nothing that would scream "novelty IDs." The envelope was flimsy enough that it wouldn't feel suspiciously thick. I'd rate the stealth a solid 8/10 — it wouldn't pass a close sniff test from customs, but for domestic mail it's fine.

Communication Speed: Honestly, it's one of their weak points. I emailed their support address on day 14 asking if everything was okay because the tracking still showed "label created." Got a reply about 40 hours later that just said "Your order is in production, do not worry, you will receive tracking when it ships." Felt super copy-paste. No attempt to actually look up my order or give a specific timeline. If you're the anxious type, this process will drive you nuts.

Quality: That said, once it arrived, the quality was genuinely good. The microprint is crisp, the holograms are layered well and shift properly under light, and the lamination feels sturdy — not too thick, not too thin. The raised text is present but could be a bit bolder; it's subtle. Colors match nicely on the front and back, no alignment issues with the photo. I haven't run it through a scanner yet but visually it looks right. UV patterns appear correct under a blacklight, at least on the sample I checked.

VFM Rating: I'd give it a 7/10. The quality itself is easily an 8/10 — it's one of the better batches I've seen from them. But the shipping speed and near-zero communication drag the overall experience down. If they charged more but shipped faster, I'd actually prefer that. For the price point, you're getting a decent-looking ID that will pass a glance, but you're paying with your patience.

Pros: Print quality is good, lamination is solid, state details are accurate, UV holds up, stealth packaging is decent, and I had no customs issues on arrival.

Cons: Shipping takes 3–4 weeks, support responses are templated and slow, tracking updates are inconsistent, no real way to expedite, and the raised text feels a bit subdued compared to a real ID.

Overall, if you have the time to wait and you're not in a rush, IDGod's restock seems like a solid option again. Just don't expect any hand-holding during the process. I'll probably use them again for a future order but I'll make sure I order way ahead of time.
