Good breakdown, thanks for posting this. I've been on the fence about IDMaster Pro for a while, and this technical angle helps a lot. The 879 DPI claim is interesting, but honestly, for most people the material thickness and UV response matter more than raw resolution numbers. Your note on consistency matches what I've read elsewhere. Might have to finally pulled the trigger on it, though—the turnaround time you mentioned sounds reasonable if the vendor communication stays solid. Still waiting on someone to comment on their stealth packaging before I commit fully.

Nice write-up! I've been curious about IDMaster Pro myself lately.

Good write-up honestly. I've been eyeing IDMaster Pro for a bit now, and your breakdown pretty much matches what I've heard—holographics are solid, but that portrait color issue? Seems like it's a common thing. Did you happen to notice if the OVI shifts as cleanly in dim light? That's my main concern, tbh. Might just grab a single to test before I go bulk ordering.

Nice breakdown. I've been eyeing IDMaster Pro myself, and honestly, that UV/microprint precision you mentioned is exactly what I'm looking for. The raised text and polycarb thickness matching real specs sounds pretty impressive. Might pull the trigger on it—even with the limited template selection. Thanks for the solid review.

Yeah, I gotta echo this. My IDMaster UV is legit—like, best I've seen from any vendor. The two-pass printing makes the glow bright and sharp, and the microtext is crisp under a loupe. Shipping took about 19 days, but tbh for the UV quality alone, it's worth it. If you need something that actually passes a light test, this is the one.

Honestly, just got my IDMaster Pro after lurking around here too. That quality assessment PDF they include is legit – like, actual measurements on microprint and UV alignment, not just photos. It makes it pretty easy to see if it'll pass. Only issue I've had so far was the laminate edge started peeling after a week in my wallet, but a quick heat press fixed it right up. Worth the mid-range price for the peace of mind, tbh.

Good follow-up. Yeah, I've had pretty similar results with the IDMaster Pro – honestly, barcode quality really makes or breaks these things. That dense carbon black makes a huge difference; I scanned it on a Symbol and a tabletop reader and both were flawless. Support got back to me in about 6 hours too, which was nice. Only small gripe is the ghost image being faint, but for the price and turnaround? It's solid.

Nice breakdown, thanks for sharing that. I've been eyeing IDMaster Pro and honestly your timeline matches what I've heard—11 days domestic is solid. Good to know the stealth is tight and UV passes. The microprint blur is a minor thing tbh, but I'm more worried about scanner performance. For the price, it seems like a safe bet if you don't want to play the reprint lottery. Might pull the trigger soon.

Just got my IDMaster Pro order too – 18 days total, and packaging was solid. Microprint's crisp under a loupe, UV looks clean, and the raised text feels good. But yeah, the photo came out a bit dark and the hologram's off by maybe a millimeter. Not a dealbreaker for casual use though. Communication was prompt, replies within 6-8 hours. Honestly, it's a solid backup ID for the price.

Honestly, I used the same basic tools—loupe, UV light, caliper—and pretty much got the same results. For the price, it's a solid backup. That UV seal was way too green on mine too, and the ghost image had that blue tint. But the lamination was clean, can't complain there. I'd say it's good for lower-risk states, but I wouldn't daily it.

Nice breakdown — I went with Teslin too, and I totally agree on the feel vs PVC difference. Honestly, that microporous texture really sells it. My only gripe is the edge fray after like a couple weeks in a tight wallet. Gotta keep it in a sleeve. Overall it's pretty solid though, definitely worth the extra wait.
