Monero payment on FakeYourDrank

Tested the Monero payment flow on FakeYourDrank for the first time this month after using Bitcoin on previous orders. The switch was worth it. Here's exactly how it went.

The payment process

After submitting the order form, the checkout page displays a Monero wallet address and the exact XMR amount required, calculated from the current exchange rate at the moment you load the page. The rate is locked for fifteen minutes, shown by a countdown timer. If you don't send within that window, you reload and get a fresh rate. I sent within about three minutes of loading the page so the rate lock wasn't a concern.

The transaction confirmed on the Monero network in about four minutes. The order page updated to show payment received within a minute of the first confirmation — they don't wait for multiple confirmations the way some vendors do. Total time from clicking "pay with Monero" to seeing "payment confirmed" was under ten minutes.

Compared to Bitcoin

My last Bitcoin payment on a different vendor took over an hour before the vendor's system marked it as received, partly because of mempool congestion and partly because they required three confirmations. The Monero flow here was meaningfully faster in practice. There's also no mempool anxiety — I didn't have to check fee estimators or worry about the transaction sitting in queue.

The XMR amount displayed at checkout was accurate and consistent with what my wallet app calculated independently. No hidden conversion fees that I could detect. The only minor friction was finding the FakeYourDrank-specific XMR address since their checkout page doesn't display it until you select Monero as the payment method — it's not listed anywhere else on the site. Once you know it's on the checkout page, it takes thirty seconds to get there.

The Monero option on FakeYourDrank is straightforward enough that I'll use it for future orders. The speed advantage over Bitcoin is real and the privacy improvement is meaningful. No reason to go back to Bitcoin for this vendor specifically.

Haven't used FakeYourDrank myself, but I've seen enough chatter to say they're a legit vendor around here. If you're hesitating, I'd say just go ahead and pull the trigger on a small test order first. Keep an eye on their vendor communication leading up to it though, and don't expect lightning-fast customer service responsiveness. From what others have said, the stealth packaging is solid too. Once it ships, the turnaround time is usually fair, so it's not a bad bet overall. Just my two cents.
