Received my MagicIDs order about two weeks ago and went through the card carefully over several sessions. Here's my honest take on the quality at the price point I paid, which was their mid-tier option.
Physical inspection
The card weight feels correct — it's not the light hollow feel you get from budget PVC. I measured it against an old genuine card I keep for comparison and the thickness was within about half a millimeter. The edges were clean with no visible flash or rough spots where a PVC card might show delamination starting. The back face printed cleanly with no color banding visible to the naked eye.
UV and optical features
Under a 365nm UV light, the fluorescent elements appeared in the correct zones. The pattern wasn't as crisp as a genuine card — some of the fine lines looked slightly bloomed — but the overall placement and color were right. The OVI element on the front responded to angle changes as expected, shifting from one color to another across about a forty-degree arc. No dead zones that I could see.
Barcode
Scanned successfully on two different apps. The decoded fields matched what was on the front face with no discrepancies. I specifically checked the date of birth encoding and the address fields — both correct. One app flagged an optional field as absent, but that field isn't present on every genuine card of this state either, so I'm not treating it as a defect.
Overall this is a solid mid-tier card. It doesn't have the polished laminate finish of the premium tier I've seen from other vendors at twice the price, but for the money, the accuracy and build quality are better than I expected going in. Would order from MagicIDs again for states where I've seen their templates perform well.
