New package from EvolvedIDs review

My EvolvedIDs package came in last Thursday and I want to write up the experience while it's still fresh. I've ordered from them twice before, so I have a reasonable baseline for comparison.

The outer packaging was a plain padded envelope with no external branding, return address listed as a generic business name I didn't recognize. The envelope itself was well-sealed — no gaps at the edges, no signs of having been opened and resealed. Inside was a small folded note with the order number printed on it, and the card in a rigid plastic sleeve between two cardboard backing pieces. That's the same packaging format as my last two orders, which is good to know is consistent.

Card inspection: I went through my standard checklist. Front face print quality was high — clean photo reproduction, sharp text, background imagery with no visible pixelation at normal viewing distance. The overlay was flat across the entire card surface with no lift at any corner, which was the weak point on my very first EvolvedIDs order (they've clearly improved this). Under a UV light, the security element in the expected position was present and clearly defined. I held it at several angles and the element was visible from all of them, not just when the light was directly above the card.

The back face had a small registration issue — the address block was shifted about a millimeter to the left of where it should sit. It's minor, and I had to compare against a reference image to confirm it, but it's there. This is the kind of thing that only matters in a careful side-by-side comparison. At normal handling distance it's invisible.

Barcode scanned correctly on two apps. All fields matched the front face data with no discrepancies. The state field was correctly encoded, which was an issue reported in some older EvolvedIDs orders but doesn't seem to be a problem in current production.

Compared to my order from eight months ago, this card is clearly from a better production run. The overlay improvement alone makes it a stronger choice than the same vendor was a year ago.
