OldIronsidesFakes Customer Service Experience
This is the difference between quality vendors and budget ones. Budget vendors won't respond to tickets, let alone offer free reprints.
Night and day difference. The original was usable but the photo was too dark. The replacement photo looks perfect - natural lighting, proper exposure. Much better.
So I figured I'd share my experience with OIF here since I've seen some people asking about their customer service lately. Short version: they've always been solid on that front, but tbh I'll break it all down since I know that's more helpful when you're trying to decide who to go with.
My order timeline went something like this: placed the order on a Monday, got an automated confirmation within an hour – that's pretty standard. Payment went through without any hiccups – they take the usual crypto options, nothing fancy. About three days later I got a shipping notification with a tracking number. That part was pretty standard, no complaints there. Then the trouble started: the package moved through a couple of regional hubs and then just... stopped updating. After about ten days of no movement I figured it was lost – happens sometimes, especially with international mail this year.
I reached out to their support email on a Tuesday evening. To my surprise I got a reply the next morning, which is decent turnaround considering the time zones. The rep asked for proof that it was genuinely lost – like a screenshot of the tracking showing the dead end and maybe a note from my local post office. I sent over what I had, and within 24 hours they confirmed they'd reship the entire order at no extra cost. No fuss, no arguing, no trying to blame me. They just said "sorry about that, we'll get another one out." That second package actually landed in about two weeks, and the stealth was on point – standard domestic-looking envelope with nothing suspicious on the outside, packed in a Mylar-style bag inside that had a bit of foil lining to block any casual inspection. Discrete enough for a dorm or an office mailroom.
Communication speed overall was solid. Tbh I'd give them an 8/10 for response time – usually within 12-24 hours during weekdays. Weekends were a bit slower but that's expected. They didn't ghost me or give me canned responses, which I've had happen with other vendors.
Now, for value for money, I'd give them a strong 9/10. The pricing is fair for the quality you're getting – not the cheapest on the market, but you're paying for reliability and actual customer support. When something goes wrong, they make it right without dragging their feet. That alone is worth the premium compared to rolling the dice with a vendor who'll ignore you after taking your coin.
So a few pros and cons: On the plus side, top-tier customer service, they actually honor the reship policy without pushback, decent stealth packaging that passes the casual glance test, tracking updates are timely, and the overall order process is smooth from payment to delivery. On the downside, the first package getting lost was a bummer (though it's not necessarily their fault), and shipping times can be a bit unpredictable depending on where you're located – domestic seems faster but international routes can be hit or miss. Also, their communication is mostly email-based, no live chat, so if you're impatient that might bug you.
Overall? Tbh I'd recommend them if you want peace of mind. Nothing worse than losing money and getting no response when something goes sideways. OIF proved they've got your back.
How did the replacement compare to the original? Was it noticeably better?
Thanks for sharing this. Good to know which vendors actually take care of their customers.
Exactly. I paid $150 but got $150 worth of service. You really do get what you pay for.
Just wanted to share my customer service experience with OldIronsidesFakes (OIF).
Background: Ordered a Pennsylvania novelty ID, but the photo came out darker than expected when I received it.
What happened:
I opened a support ticket explaining the issue and attached comparison photos. Within 6 hours they responded saying they'd reprint it at no charge.
They asked me to submit a new photo with better lighting, which I did. They confirmed receipt and said it would ship within 3 business days.
It actually shipped in 2 days, and I received the replacement 9 days later. The new one is perfect.
Thoughts:
This is why I recommend going with established vendors even if they cost more. The customer service alone is worth it.
Rating: 10/10 for customer service
