Ordering from MagicIDs tips

A few things I learned placing my first order with MagicIDs that would have saved me some time if I'd known them going in.

On Photo Preparation

MagicIDs has a stricter photo review process than some other vendors. My first upload was rejected because of a shadow across one side of my face — I was near a window and thought the lighting was fine, but their automated check flagged it. I retook the photo facing a plain white wall with a lamp directly in front of me at arm's length. That version passed on the first try. File size matters too: keep it under 1.5MB in JPEG format. I had a PNG at 3MB that also got rejected before I figured out the format requirement.

On Payment Timing

The order form generates a payment invoice that expires after 24 hours if you don't complete it. I made the mistake of starting an order, navigating away, and coming back the next day to find the invoice had expired. I had to generate a new one. Once you start a MagicIDs order, complete the payment in the same session rather than leaving it open and returning later.

On Communication

Their support inbox is slow — build that expectation in from the start. My proof approval came on day eight, and when I had a minor question about the proof, the clarification took four days. Both responses were accurate and addressed my question directly, but if you're on a tight timeline, you need to factor in those multi-day gaps. Submit your order with a correct photo and complete details so you don't need back-and-forth corrections.

On Card Quality

My received card was clean and accurate. The print quality on the current batch is noticeably better than the older MagicIDs samples that circulate in comparison threads. UV features were visible and well-positioned. Barcode decoded correctly on all apps I tested. If you're ordering from MagicIDs in this production window, the quality is there — the main friction is in their order management process, not the final product.
