Photo upload failing - update

Try a different browser if it keeps failing

So I ran into this same photo upload issue not too long ago, thought I'd share what worked for me since the fix isn't always obvious. For me, the problem was the spinny loader just hanging forever after I'd selected the file, then I'd get either a generic "upload failed" message or the image preview box staying blank. Sometimes I'd even see a broken image icon, but no specific error code – honestly, just a dead end.

First thing I did was check the browser console (F12 > Console tab) for any CORS or JavaScript errors – nothing there. Then I tested in incognito mode, and the upload worked perfectly, so that told me it was probably a local cache or extension issue. That's when I cleared my browser cache for the entire history range (not just the last hour, but "all time"), closed all tabs, and restarted the browser completely.

After that, I went back to the upload page, selected the same photo, and it went through without a hitch. So yeah, clearing your browser cache really is the fix here – it forces the browser to pull fresh JavaScript and CSS files instead of serving up stale ones that might have been partially corrupted or out of sync with the upload module.

For prevention, I now make a habit of clearing my browser cache at least once a week if I'm uploading frequently, and I keep a dedicated incognito window open just for uploads – that way any caching issues are isolated. Also, try to avoid using multiple tabs on the same upload page at the same time; I've seen that trigger weird session conflicts that mimic the same symptoms.
