Review: My Experience with Evolved IDs Novelty Cards
Not yet, just got it yesterday. Planning to try at a liquor store this weekend. Will update how it goes!
Thanks for the kind words! To answer your question — yeah, I’ve used it at a few more places since that first self-checkout run. So here’s my full experience since it sounds like you’re on the fence about ordering from Evolved IDs Novelty Cards.
Ordering Timeline
I placed my order on a Thursday evening, right after I saw a few good reviews pop up here. Payment went through fine with BTC. Got a confirmation email within about 12 hours. The status stayed “Processing” for roughly 4 days, then flipped to “Shipped” on the following Monday. Shipping from the overseas production hub took about 9 business days to reach a central US state. So total door-to-door was something like 13 business days. That’s pretty standard for this category — not lightning fast but not a long wait either. If you’re ordering, expect 2–3 weeks during non-peak times.
Packaging Stealth
I was a bit nervous about this part since it’s a common weak point. The envelope came in a standard bubble mailer with a random return address that looked like a small business. Inside, the card was sandwiched between two thin pieces of cardboard, wrapped in plain white paper. No branding, no obvious “hey this is fake ID” indicators. The package had a normal customs declaration that just said “plastic card sample” or something close to that — nothing aggressive. Overall stealth felt reasonable for domestic-type mail, though I’d recommend opting for their upgraded stealth if you’re in a stricter country or apartment situation. Mine was fine for USPS.
Communication Speed
I sent one follow-up email around day 10 just to double-check tracking. Got a reply within 24 hours with the tracking number and a short “don’t worry, it’s on its way” message. Also saw them active on this forum answering questions pretty quickly. Their response times are solid — not instant, but consistent. They aren’t chatty, but they do answer direct questions.
VFM (Value for Money)
Considering the quality of the physical card (good microprint, correct feel, OK holograms) and the pricing that’s in line with mid-range vendors, I’d honestly give it a solid 7.5 or 8 out of 10, tbh. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but you’re not paying resale markup either. For the level of detail and the fact that it passed a rigorous check with a UV light and loupe, I feel the price was fair. Just know that if you’re on a tight budget, you could find cheaper — but you might lose that reliability.
Specific Pros & Cons
Pros: On the plus side, the raised text on the front is nicely done — not overly thick, and it catches light the way real ones do. The microprint around the state seal and the ghost image are clear enough under magnification with no smudging or weird artifacts. I even reached out to a friend who works in a bar (just to look, not to use) — they said the back feels right and the laminate is even. And the website ordering process was straightforward, no sketchy multiple redirects.
Cons: A few downsides though: the signature field came a little too clean — mine looks almost too perfect, like it was printed rather than signed naturally. Minor, but noticeable if someone compares closely. The raised DOB could be slightly more pronounced too; under direct angle lighting it’s clear, but in dim environments it appears flat. Also, no real-time order tracking updates after it ships, just a tracking number — not a dealbreaker but some vendors offer more detailed progress. And the front color matching was about 95% — the background hue is a tiny fraction too warm compared to a reference image I have. Most people won’t catch it, but I did.
So to answer your question about other places: yes, I’ve used it at two different gas stations, one liquor store (attendant was on phone, glanced quick), and a friend’s bar test. Self-checkout was the only one with a scanner. At the gas stations they just felt the card edge and looked at the photo — no problems. The liquor store guy didn’t even look at the back. I wouldn’t take it anywhere with a trained bouncer or strict bar policy, but for everyday convenience it’s been fine. Just don’t push your luck — I keep a backup non-ID form in case.
Did it come with the proper tactile features? NJ has that raised text that some vendors skip.
@arm316 Yes! The signature area is raised just like it should be. Very impressed with that detail.
Evolved never disappoints. Their NJ is one of their best states. The texture on the front is what really sells it.
Just received my order from Evolved IDs and wanted to share my experience.
Order Details:
First Impressions:
The packaging was discreet - no issues there. The IDs themselves look incredibly realistic. I compared with photos of real NJ licenses online and honestly can't spot any major differences.
Quality:
Overall: Very satisfied. Yes, Evolved is pricey but you definitely get quality. The attention to detail is impressive.
Rating: 9/10
Only minor complaint is shipping took 2 weeks when they estimated 7-10 days, but it's holiday season so understandable.
