Seasonal deals coming?
They usually do something around holidays. Keep an eye out
Honestly, the OP is spot on about group orders vs seasonal sales. I've been around this sub for a while and tbh, I've found that jumping on a well-organized group buy almost always beats waiting for like a "Black Friday" or "New Year" sale. The discounts you get from pooling orders are usually better because the vendor doesn't have to eat the same overhead. Plus, sales often come with unpredictable site traffic and processing delays—group orders tend to be more consistent, end of story.
Just to give you a concrete example from my last go-around: I placed an order through a group order organized by a regular member here. Order went in on the 12th, funds confirmed and items went into production on the 14th. QC pictures came through about 4 days later—pretty standard shots but everything looked good. Shipping was DHL, and the package landed on my doorstep exactly 8 days after the QC was approved. Total from payment to door was just under three weeks, which is pretty fair for the price we paid per unit. Compared to the vendor's advertised "seasonal sale" prices from last fall, the group order saved me about 30% after shipping splits.
As for stealth, the packaging was solid. Outer box was just a plain cardboard mailer with no labels or stickers that gave anything away. Inside, the IDs were wrapped in bubble wrap and tucked between two sheets of cardboard. There was a vacuum-sealed inner bag for extra discretion. No customs issues on my end, but I know some people in the same group had theirs held for a day or two—nothing seized. Communication with the group organizer was quick, usually a reply within a few hours on Telegram. The vendor themselves only communicated via the organizer, so I can't speak to direct speed, but the organizer said they got answers within half a day for any questions.
When it comes to value for money, group orders absolutely win in my book. Factor in the per-unit cost, shipping consolidation, and the fact that you're not gambling on whether a sale will actually happen—it's a no-brainer. Seasonal sales often come with hidden conditions like minimum spend, limited time windows, or only applying to certain states. Group orders are way more straightforward. VFM rating for the order I did: 9/10. Only point docked is because you have to coordinate with other people and trust the organizer not to run off with the funds, but if you pick a reputable one from the vendor's own recommended list, it's fine.
So the pros? Better pricing than most sales, faster turnaround because vendors prioritize bulk orders, and you get to see QC before they ship. Cons? You need to join a group and wait for enough people to fill the slots—sometimes that takes a week or two. Also, the design options might be limited to what the group decides on. But for the savings? Totally worth it. If you're sitting on the fence about waiting for a seasonal deal, I'd say find a group order that's about to close and hop in.
Anyone know if theres gonna be any deals coming up soon? Trying to time my order right
