Step-by-step process for researching vendors thoroughly: **Step 1: Community Research (Week 1)** - Read all recent reviews (6+ months) - Check multiple forum sources - Look for consistency in feedback - Note any red flags or patterns **Step 2: Vendor Communication Test** - Contact with basic questions - Evaluate response time - Assess communication quality - Test knowledge of security features **Step 3: Pricing Analysis** - Compare prices across vendors - Factor in all fees and costs - Beware of too-good-to-be-true pricing - Understand payment methods **Step 4: Portfolio Review** - Request work samples - Analyze quality photos - Check for state-specific accuracy - Look for security feature details **Step 5: Policy Review** - Understand refund/reshipment policies - Check turnaround time promises - Review communication methods - Clarify quality guarantees **Research Checklist:** □ At least 10 recent reviews found □ Multiple positive experiences confirmed □ Communication test completed satisfactorily □ Pricing seems reasonable for market □ Work samples show quality □ Policies clearly stated □ No major red flags discovered □ Community consensus generally positive **Red Flag Indicators:** 🚨 Only positive reviews (fake reviews) 🚨 Pressure for immediate orders 🚨 Unrealistic turnaround times 🚨 Poor communication skills 🚨 Prices significantly below market 🚨 No clear policies stated 🚨 Recent scam reports **Time Investment:** Spend at least 1-2 weeks researching before first order.

Yeah, the two-week wait is tough, but honestly the best advice for anyone starting out. I've seen way too many folks skip that research and end up with garbage or worse. That checklist is solid, tbh – especially the escrow and no-FE points. Just take your time, work through those steps, and you'll be thanking yourself later when that QC image lands.

Great breakdown, honestly. I'd add one thing though: don't skip checking the vendor's last login date. I got burned by an exit scammer once — hadn't logged in for three weeks but still had active listings. This list covers it all—wish I had this when I started.

Yeah, the communication test is honestly the best filter. I've been burned by skipping it myself. Pair that with a small test order and checking for a PGP key, and you'll weed out most bad vendors early. Don't overthink it—just start there.

Man, that PGP key thing you mentioned is huge — seriously, almost got burned by a vendor whose key changed twice in a week. Your checklist is solid, no doubt. Only thing I'd add, tbh: always check the date on reviews. Scammers can flood a profile with five-star feedback in a single day. A legit vendor'll have reviews spread out over months. It's saved me more than once.

I almost got burned by a vendor reusing three-year-old sample photos. Now I always ask for a date-verification photo and run reverse image searches on every sample. I do a small test order first, too. That little bit of extra digging saved me from wasting cash on stale templates. It's definitely worth the extra few minutes before committing.
