Vendor review - 12 month update

Posted a review of this vendor about a year ago. Coming back to update: quality has stayed consistent, prices increased slightly, turnaround is marginally faster. Still my go-to source.

Consistent quality over 12 months is rare. That vendor is doing something right.

Long-term reviews are where you really find out what something's worth. One-off impressions are fine, but you don't truly know how a vendor holds up until you've carried their card in your wallet for a year and seen how it wears. That's why I wanted to circle back and drop a proper 12-month update on my order. Hopefully it helps someone who's on the fence.

I placed the order about 13 months ago now. The ordering process was pretty standard – filled out the form, uploaded a decent photo, paid through the usual methods. Communication was solid. The vendor replied to my initial questions within a few hours, and after ordering they sent a confirmation, then a shipping notification when it went out. No ghosting, no weird delays. From payment to delivery it took about 18 days. Not lightning fast, but reasonable for the quality.

Packaging was surprisingly discreet. Came in a plain bubble mailer with no return address that stood out. Inside, the card was sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard, and there was a thin layer of foam. No extra fluff, but nothing got damaged in transit. The stealth aspect was solid – if anyone had snooped, it just looked like a generic piece of mail. They also wrapped the card in a bit of tissue paper, which I thought was a nice touch to prevent scratches.

Now for the actual card. After a full year of daily carry – in and out of pockets, sitting on it, occasional humidity – it's held up better than I expected. The lamination hasn't peeled at the edges, which is a common failure point I've seen with lower-tier vendors. The microprint and raised text are still crisp. The holograms haven't started to flake or fade. Colors are still matching pretty well, though I will say the photo looks a tiny bit more saturated now than it did fresh out of the package. Not a dealbreaker.

Value for money? I'd give it a solid 8.5/10. It wasn't the cheapest option out there, but you're paying for that durability. I've seen people get cards that look perfect on day one and look like trash three months later. This one is still going strong, so the extra few bucks were worth it. I'd rather pay once for something that lasts than re-order every few months.

After a full year, here are the pros and cons. On the plus side: the lamination is durable and doesn't separate, the card has a good weight and feel, the microprint details are still readable, communication was quick and professional, packaging was stealthy, and the overall design matches genuine examples I've compared it to. On the downside: the photo does have a slightly different color profile than the original – not enough to get called out, but I notice it. Also, the card stock is a tiny bit thicker than a real one. I've heard some newer batches fixed that, but mine is noticeably thicker. The edge where the two laminate layers meet isn't completely invisible – you can feel a slight ridge if you run your finger along the side.

Would I order from the same vendor again? Absolutely. The slight thickness and photo saturation are minor nitpicks. The fact that the card has survived a full year without looking beat up is the real endorsement. I'm actually placing another order this week for a different state, and I'm sticking with the same source. If you're looking for something that will hold up beyond the first few weeks, long-term performance like this is what you should be paying attention to. Hope this helps someone make a more informed choice.

Slightly faster turnaround after a year suggests they have scaled up. Good sign.
