Vendor review - 12 month update

posted by issabellal 4 months ago 581 views 5 comments

So about a year ago I dropped a pretty detailed review on this vendor, and I figured it was time to come back with a proper 12-month update. A lot can change in a year with these guys – prices shift, turnaround times tweak, and consistency can either hold up or fall off a cliff. Happy to report this one has stayed solid overall, but I want to give you the full breakdown since the community always appreciates the nitty-gritty.

Ordering Timeline – The process from placement to delivery has actually tightened up a bit. Back in my original review, I was looking at roughly 5-7 days for processing before it even left their hands, and then another 8-12 days for shipping domestically. Now I'm seeing processing drop to about 3-4 days on average, and shipping has been hitting my door in 5-7 days. I placed my latest order on a Tuesday evening, got a confirmation within a few hours, and the tracking showed "shipped" by Friday. It landed the following Wednesday. That's a full week from order to mailbox, which is pretty decent for this category. International might still be a different story, but domestically the turnaround is noticeably faster than it was 12 months ago.

Packaging Stealth – This is where they've always been strong, and they haven't slipped. The outer envelope is a plain bubble mailer with a slightly generic return address that doesn't raise any eyebrows – just a name and a PO box in a non-descript city. Inside, the ID is sandwiched between two pieces of stiff cardboard, wrapped in a thin foam sheet, and then sealed in a little Mylar bag to prevent any bending or moisture. No smells, no weird markings, and the package weight is light enough to pass as a standard letter. One thing I noticed this time: the inner envelope now has a subtle security tear strip that makes it look like official correspondence if someone were to peek. Small touch, but adds to the stealth factor.

Communication Response Speed – Over the past year they've definitely improved their response time. I remember waiting 24-48 hours for a reply back in the day, but now I'm consistently getting answers within 12 hours, often faster. I reached out about a minor microprint alignment issue on my last order (purely cosmetic, didn't affect usability), and they got back to me in about 6 hours with a clarification and an offer to reprint if I wanted. That kind of responsiveness wasn't there a year ago. Email and their ticket system are both responsive, but I stick to the ticket system for tracking. No live chat, which is fine for me.

VFM Rating – On value for money, I'd give them a solid 8.5/10 now. The prices have crept up about 15-20% since my first review, but the quality has stayed consistent, so you're still getting a fair deal compared to other mid-tier options. They're not the cheapest, but you're not paying premium prices either. For the turnaround improvements and the consistent output, I think the slight increase is justified. If they keep the quality at this level for another year, I'd call it a 9/10.

Pros: Consistent print quality – the front and back alignment is still spot-on, microprint is crisp, and the UV is correctly layered. The material has good flexibility and a realistic feel to it – doesn't feel like cheap cardstock. The updated turnaround time is a big plus. Packaging remains top-tier stealth.

Cons: Price increase stings a little, even if it's understandable. The microprint alignment I mentioned was a minor issue on one corner – not a dealbreaker, but noticeable under magnification. Also, they don't offer as many customization options as some other sources; you're pretty much limited to the standard templates. And while communication is faster, they still don't provide detailed tracking updates once it's in transit – you get the initial "shipped" notification and that's it.

Overall, they're still my go-to source after a full year of consistent orders. Nothing's perfect, but for a reliable ID that doesn't break the bank and shows up on time, this vendor is holding strong. If you're looking for a recent data point, this is it.

Yeah, long-term reviews are gold. I've had a few legit vendors drop off after a few months, so seeing consistency over a year is huge. When the turnaround time stays solid and the stealth packaging doesn't slack off, that's when I know I can trust them. Pulled the trigger on a similar order last month, and the vendor came through without any issues. Appreciate you sharing that follow-up—it’s what keeps this community reliable.

Thanks for the follow-up. I'm the same way about long-term updates—really helps me trust a legit vendor before I pull the trigger on anything. Had a similar experience with a vendor whose turnaround time improved over a few months like you mentioned, guess they figured out their system. Never changes vendor communication approach, that's what stands out to me after a whole year. Appreciate you sharing that.

Honestly, totally agree—long-term updates are way more useful than the typical first-week reviews. So many people post one good impression and then just disappear. It's good to know how things actually hold up after daily use. Really appreciate you taking the time to follow up.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing with my last order. That slightly faster turnaround? Honestly a good sign they're scaling up. Here's hoping the quality stays consistent as they grow.

Yeah, that's impressive. I've seen so many vendors drop off in quality after just a few months, so a full year of consistency is pretty rare, honestly. Might have to check them out myself if they're still holding up that well.
