Yeah, I've run into this exact issue before — site keeps saying "invalid code" or "code not found" even though you're sure you typed it right. One of the most common culprits is case sensitivity. Lots of backend systems treat uppercase and lowercase letters as totally different strings, so `abc123` won't match `ABC123` even if they're the same characters.

Symptoms: So what does this look like? You paste or type in a promo, gift card, or registration code, hit submit, and get a generic red error like "Code not recognized" or "Invalid entry." No hint about what's wrong, just a dead end. Sometimes you'll even see the code greyed out in the input field, but nothing happens.

Troubleshooting steps: First off — try ALL CAPS. That's the quickest test. If the code came from an email or a printed receipt, it's often displayed in uppercase for this reason. Also try all lowercase just in case the system expects that. Another thing that trips people up: hidden spaces before or after the code when you copy-paste from an email. I usually paste into a plain text editor first to strip formatting, then copy from there.

The fix: In my case, simply retyping the code in uppercase worked. Some websites also auto-trim spaces, but not all of them handle case conversion. If you got the code from a support rep or a PDF, check if there are any hyphens or dashes that need to be included exactly as shown. A lot of systems treat `X4-9B` differently from `X49B`.

Prevention advice: Honestly, whenever you get a code, immediately save it in uppercase yourself — that way you don't have to guess later. If you're generating codes for a service you run, it's good practice to make them case-insensitive on the backend to save your users the headache. And always copy-paste directly from the source instead of typing by hand to avoid letter mix-ups (like `0` vs `O`).
