PSA: Dont use sites you find through random google ads. Lot of scams out there

Stick to verified vendors that people actually review

Yeah, you've got the right idea — checking for reviews before you drop cash anywhere is literally the bare minimum. But honestly, just glancing at a few Reddit posts or Trustpilot stars? That's not enough anymore. Scammers game that system hard. I've been burned before, so here's what I look for now.

First off, red flags. If a site has zero reviews anywhere — not even a single mention on some forum — that's a huge warning sign. Even brand new vendors usually get talked about in niche circles. Then, if you do find reviews, check the pattern. Are they all from accounts that joined yesterday? Do they all sound copy-pasted? That's classic astroturfing. Another one: the site looks polished, but the domain was registered last month, and their only contact is a Gmail address with a generic name. Legit operations tend to have a longer track record and at least a real business address or phone number you can verify.

Payment methods are another huge clue, tbh. If they only take crypto, wire transfers, or gift cards — proceed with extreme caution. Those are nearly impossible to reverse if something goes wrong. I've seen patterns where scammers use the same "too good to be true" pricing, push urgency ("limited stock!"), and then vanish after a few weeks. Classic exit scam.

So to protect yourself, don't just Google the vendor name — search for "[site name] scam" or "[site name] reddit" and see what comes up. Cross-reference on multiple forums. Check if they've been around long enough for reviews to build up naturally. If you're still unsure, start with a small test order — whatever you're willing to lose. And always trust your gut. If something feels off, it probably is. There's always another source.

Good reminder. If the price is too good to be true it probably is
