Best payment method for privacy?

posted by Dickie 11 months ago 1,033 views 5 comments
Looking to place my first order but concerned about payment privacy. I see most vendors accept Bitcoin, but I've never used crypto before. Is Bitcoin really necessary or are there other options that are just as safe? I've heard some vendors take gift cards too? Also, if I do go with Bitcoin, any recommended exchanges that are noob-friendly?

Honestly just go with BTC for your first order, it's not as scary as it sounds. Cash App is dead simple for buying and sending. One thing nobody mentioned — don't use Coinbase, they'll flag crypto sent to vendor addresses and freeze your account fast.

Gift cards are okay if you want extra separation from your bank but you'll lose value on them. Just keep your bitcoin transaction ID handy after you send, in case the vendor needs to verify.

Gift cards work but you lose some value and they're a hassle. I'd just start with BTC honestly, Cash App is the easiest for a first-timer. One heads up though, don't use Coinbase if you care about privacy at all — they're pretty aggressive about tracking. Take a screenshot of your bitcoin transaction ID before you close the app, comes in handy if the vendor asks for proof. Once you do one order it's second nature.

If you're really struggling with crypto, some vendors accept Amazon gift cards or other prepaid options. But honestly Bitcoin is worth learning - it's the most private and secure method available.

Pro tip: Don't overthink it. Buy BTC on Cash App, send it to the vendor's address. That's it. The vendor will have instructions on their site too.

Bitcoin is definitely the safest option. It might seem complicated at first but it's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I recommend using Coinbase to buy BTC, then transfer it to the vendor's wallet. The whole process takes maybe 15 minutes.
