Bitcoin Cash is accepted by some vendors who take Bitcoin but fewer vendors accept it than take BTC or Monero. Here is an honest assessment of where it fits in the payment landscape.

What Bitcoin Cash actually is

Bitcoin Cash forked from Bitcoin in 2017 primarily over a disagreement about block size. BCH uses larger blocks, which means more transactions can be confirmed per block and fees are consistently lower than on the Bitcoin network. Confirmation time is similar — roughly 10 minutes per block — but lower fee competition means your transaction is more likely to confirm in the next block without fee manipulation.

Practical comparison to BTC and LTC

Transaction fees on BCH are typically under $0.01, compared to $1 to $20 on BTC depending on network conditions. This makes it more comparable to Litecoin in the fee department. Confirmation speed is similar to Bitcoin — one confirmation in about 10 minutes — which is slower than Litecoin's 2.5-minute block time but adequate for most vendor payments.

Privacy characteristics are similar to Bitcoin: all transactions on a transparent blockchain. BCH does not have Monero's privacy features. If privacy is the primary concern, BCH offers no advantage over BTC.

Acceptance

BCH is accepted by fewer vendors than BTC or LTC. If you already have BCH from other uses, and your vendor accepts it, it is a fine payment option with low fees. But acquiring BCH specifically for a vendor payment when you would otherwise use BTC or LTC adds a conversion step that is only worth it if the fee savings are significant for your order size.

For orders under $200, the fee difference between BCH and LTC is negligible. For larger orders, Litecoin fees are still well under $1, making the practical difference between BCH and LTC minimal regardless of order size.
