Bitcoin payment confusion - need help ASAP

posted by Cookin 11 months ago 677 views 2 comments
I'm trying to order from EvolvedIDs but stuck on the Bitcoin payment step. This is my first time buying crypto and I'm completely lost. I bought $120 worth of BTC on Coinbase like the vendor said. But now I'm confused about the wallet address and transaction fees. **Problems:** 1. The amount in BTC keeps changing while I'm trying to send it. It was 0.0015 BTC, now it's showing 0.0016 BTC? 2. Coinbase is charging a $3.99 network fee - do I need to buy extra BTC to cover this? 3. How long does it take for the vendor to confirm payment? The order page says "awaiting payment" still. I sent the BTC like 20 minutes ago. Is it normal for it to take this long? Also, the vendor site says "send exact amount" but with the fees I'm worried I sent too little or too much. Will they still process my order? Sorry for the noob questions but I'm stressing out here. Any help appreciated!

The BTC amount changes because the price fluctuates constantly. You need to buy a bit extra to cover network fees - usually add $5-10 more than the order total. Bitcoin confirmations can take 10-60 minutes depending on network congestion. Check your Coinbase transaction to see if it has any confirmations yet. The vendor won't mark it as paid until it gets at least 1-2 confirmations on the blockchain.

Pro tip for next time: use CashApp instead of Coinbase for buying Bitcoin. Way easier interface and lower fees. But yeah what the other person said is correct, just wait for the blockchain confirmation. Check the transaction hash on blockchain.com to see the status.
