Can I ship to my college dorm address? Anyone done this before?

Yep works fine. Just use your full dorm address with room number

If your school has a mail center just make sure the name matches

Hey man, saw your question about delivery timelines and figured I'd share my experience since I also route everything to my dorm. So yeah, I get all my packages delivered there without any real issues. For couriers, I just go with whatever standard shipping option's available — usually UPS or USPS depending on the vendor, but I've also had luck with FedEx a few times. None of 'em have caused me any problems at the dorm address.

Transit hubs are kind of a mixed bag depending on where the package comes from. Most of mine go through Memphis or Louisville if they're domestic, and sometimes through a regional hub like Chicago or Dallas if the vendor's on the other side of the country. Tracking usually stalls for about a day at those hubs, but honestly it's never been a problem — just typical sorting delays that clear up. One thing I've noticed is that once it hits a hub near my state, it moves fast to the local distribution center and then to my dorm within 24 hours.

Packaging durability has been solid so far. I've had orders come in bubble mailers and small cardboard boxes, and everything's arrived intact. The cardboard box style holds up better, especially if it's a card or flat pack — mailers can get a little crushed in transit, but I haven't had any damage to the actual IDs or docs inside. Vendors usually use a discreet outer layer, plain white or brown, so no one at the dorm mailroom really notices.

Customs stuff is pretty minimal for domestic shipments — obviously no customs clearance inside the US. But I've heard from others on here that if your vendor ships from overseas, customs can hold it for a few extra days at the hub. Personally I haven't gone international yet because I don't want that risk with a dorm address, so keep that in mind.

Overall shipping speed? I'd say most orders take about 5–8 business days from order to doorstep, with tracking going live within a day or two after payment. It's not lightning fast, but it's consistent. No lost packages, no signature required — which is nice for a dorm where you might not be around — and everything shows up in the mailroom bin. So if you're worried about delivery timelines, honestly I wouldn't sweat it — campus mail services handle it just fine.
