Yep works fine. Just use your full dorm address with room number

Yeah I feel you on this one — dorm deliveries can be tricky if you don't plan ahead. Honestly, the biggest hurdle is what you said about making sure the name matches. Most school mail centers are super strict about that. They'll cross-reference the name against the housing roster, and if it doesn't match exactly what's on file, it either goes to the dead letter pile or gets sent back. I've seen people try using a nickname or a roommate's name — just gets bounced immediately.

Courier choice matters a lot for dorm deliveries. In my experience, USPS is usually the safest bet since they handle campus mail directly in a lot of schools. FedEx and UPS can work too, but sometimes they hand off to a third-party delivery service for the last mile — that's where the name mismatch risk goes up. Transit hubs also play a role, especially if your school is in a smaller town. The package might sit at a regional hub longer before making it to campus, which can add an extra day or two compared to a city delivery.

Packaging durability is worth mentioning too. If your order is coming from overseas, customs can be rough on boxes — I've had a few that arrived with corners crushed or tape peeling off. The mail center won't care about cosmetic damage as long as the contents are fine, but if the packing slips or labels get torn or smudged, that can mess with the name verification. Honestly, I always ask the vendor to double-layer the label or put a spare inside just in case.

On customs observations — if your package is international, expect it to clear customs at a major entry hub like Chicago, NYC, or LA before getting routed to the regional hub near your school. That adds about 3–5 days usually. If it's domestic, tbh it's way faster. Overall shipping speed for a dorm delivery is pretty much the same as any other residential address, but the extra step of the mail center processing can add a half-day to a full day depending on how busy they are. Just make sure the name matches and you're golden.
