Domestic vs International shipping - real talk about risks
I know this has been discussed before but I want current opinions. Placing my first order and trying to decide between:
1. Domestic vendor - $130, ships from US, 7-10 days
2. International vendor - $85, ships from China, 3-4 weeks, customs risk
The price difference is significant but I'm nervous about customs. Has anyone actually had a package seized? What happens if it does get caught?
Is the peace of mind worth the extra $45? I'm not in a huge rush but also don't want to risk legal issues.

I've ordered international 4 times, never had an issue. The risk is pretty low honestly. If it does get seized, worst case you just don't get it. They send you a letter saying it was confiscated but they don't come after you for one fake ID.
That said, domestic is faster and less stress. Up to you if $45 is worth the peace of mind.

My package got seized once from China. Got a letter from customs like 6 weeks later. Nothing else happened. Vendor sent a replacement that made it through fine.
BUT if you live with parents or in a dorm where others might see your mail, domestic is safer. Less explaining to do.

For your first order, I'd say go domestic. The extra money is worth not stressing about tracking and customs. Once you know what to expect you can try international if you want to save money on future orders.

Good points all around. Think I'll go domestic for the first one. Rather pay more and have it in hand quicker. Thanks!
