Finally got my order - shipping timeline

Figured I'd drop my shipping timeline in case anyone else is waiting on an order around the same time. Ordered Dec 28, payment cleared the next day on the 29th, status flipped to "shipped" on Jan 3, and it landed in my mailbox Jan 11 – so about 14 days total from order to door. Not bad at all, tbh, especially with the holiday rush gumming everything up.

The courier they used was one of those big international players – you know the type, tracking that actually updates. It bounced through a couple of major sorting hubs, including a regional distribution center that usually slows things down. I noticed a 48-hour gap between "processed through facility" and "departed" at one hub, which is pretty standard for that time of year. Customs handling was surprisingly smooth – no holds or extra scans that I could see on the tracking, and the package cleared in less than a day once it hit the border. I’ve seen way worse, especially when ports get backed up after New Year’s.

Packaging held up fine. Outer box was a plain corrugated cardboard dealing – nothing flashy, no obvious seals that scream "look inside." The IDs were sandwiched between two stiff cardboard inserts, which kept them from bending during transit. No crush damage, no moisture issues despite some rainy weather in my area. The tape was standard clear packing tape, not the reinforced stuff, but the box wasn’t overloaded so it did the job.

Overall speed assessment: 14 days during the holiday window is solid. If this had been mid-summer I'd probably expect maybe 10–12 days, but the extra few days are easily explained by the Dec 25–Jan 1 slowdown and the winter weather delays in some regions. For a first-time order, I'm pleased. Wouldn't sweat the timeline if you ordered around the same dates – just keep an eye on tracking and be patient with the hubs.
