Multiple orders placed - one arrived, one still in transit

Placed two orders two weeks apart. First one arrived right on schedule. Second is still showing in transit at week 3. Different routes take different times. Not concerned yet but documenting for comparison.

Good to document both for comparison purposes. Useful data point for the community.

Yeah, I've had this happen a few times now, tbh. Placed two orders back-to-back from the same vendor, and one showed up in like 8 days while the other took close to three weeks. At first it kind of freaked me out because you assume they're both gonna follow the same path. But once you start checking tracking, you realize it's pretty much always down to routing differences. Most sellers aren't using a single courier for every package — they'll mix between standard postal services and private carriers depending on the size or what's in stock, and that alone can change the timeline by a week or more, honestly.

Then you've got the transit hubs. One of my packages went through a major international hub like Frankfurt or Dubai and cleared within hours, while the other got stuck at a regional sorting center for nearly five days. That's super common, tbh. If one order gets routed through a slower hub or hits a backlog, you're just waiting. Packaging also plays a role — the one that arrived later had slightly better padding and a sturdier box, so maybe the vendor prioritizes certain items with extra protection. The first one came in a bubble mailer that was a little beat up but everything survived.

Honestly, customs is the biggest wildcard. I noticed the slower order sat in customs for three extra days compared to the faster one. Sometimes it's random inspection, sometimes it's just how the volume is processed at that entry point. No way to predict it. Overall, I'd say shipping speed is mostly consistent in terms of transit time once it leaves the vendor, but the pre-shipment and customs phases create most of the variance. So yeah, it's totally normal for one to land way before the other. Just keep an eye on tracking and don't panic unless it's been weeks past the usual window.

Week 3 in transit is still within expected range. Give it another week.
