Sent payment 2 hours ago, no confirmation yet. Is this normal?

Tbh, payment confirmation time really comes down to which coin you're using and whether you bothered to set a decent fee. With Bitcoin, if network congestion is heavy and you went with the default low fee, you could be waiting like hours or even a day for the first confirmation. A good rule of thumb is to check a fee estimator site before sending — paying a few extra bucks to get priority is worth it if you want the vendor to see payment within an hour or two. Some people switch to Litecoin or Monero because they're faster and fees stay reasonable even during congestion. Never assume the transaction will land instantly; plan ahead if you're on a deadline.

On the safety side, always use escrow when it's offered. Don't let someone rush you into sending direct just because they promise faster confirmation — that's exactly how people get burned. If the vendor doesn't offer escrow, at least check their reputation on the forums. And watch out for hidden fees too — some payment processors add a conversion cut or a "handling fee" on top of the price. Some vendors quote a price but then tack on extras for priority shipping or reship if customs snags it. Make sure you know the full cost before you send.

Pricing depends a lot on quality and turnaround. You'll see premium options for IDs with better microprint or UV, and budget stuff that's way cheaper but takes longer and has a higher chance of failing. The confirmation wait isn't usually a reflection of how good the product is — it's just the blockchain doing its thing. Patience saves headaches, but honestly paying a bit more in fees can save you hours.
