Pricing question for groups - update

Sent payment 2 hours ago, no confirmation yet. Is this normal?

Yeah, the BTC confirmation thing is real. Even if the vendor marks it paid on their end, it usually takes at least a couple of confirmations before they actually finalize the order. I’ve had payments sit unconfirmed for hours just because I used a low network fee to save a buck. Learned that lesson — now I always bump the fee a bit, especially on weekends when the mempool gets clogged. If you’re in a group buy, don’t stress if it’s not instant. Give it the full 24 hours like you said, and only start worrying if it’s still unconfirmed after that.

Speaking of group buys — escrow is your best friend. Seriously, never send your share directly to the vendor until the group leader has confirmed everyone chipped in and the escrow is set. Plenty of scams happen when someone goes rogue and pays the vendor directly, then the group leader disappears with everyone’s BTC. Always use a trusted escrow service or a multi-sig wallet if you can. Yeah, it adds a step, but it saves headaches.

Oh, and watch out for hidden fees. Some vendors quote a price but don’t mention they only accept exact amounts — so you overpay a tiny bit and they don’t refund the difference. Others tack on a “processing fee” or a conversion fee if you’re paying with a different crypto. Always ask upfront for the total BTC amount including network fees. For pricing context, most single IDs run anywhere from 60 to 120 these days, but group buys can drop that to 30–50 each. Just remember: lower price means higher risk if you skip escrow.

TL;DR — set your BTC fee right, use escrow in groups, ask about all costs, and don’t panic until 24 hours are up.

Depends on network congestion. Usually confirmed within a few hours
