PSA: Avoid @fakeid_deals on telegram

posted by olllielou 9 months ago 888 views 3 comments

Warning to everyone:

Someone reached out to me on Telegram claiming to offer discounts. Account name was @fakeid_deals

They wanted payment upfront with no escrow. I asked for proof and they got defensive.

Pretty sure its a scam. Stay safe out there!

Good looking out on this one. I wanted to expand a bit because the "never trust random DMs" rule is honestly probably the single most important thing you can learn in this whole ID game, and it applies way beyond just that one @fakeid_deals account.

Concrete red flags to watch for: So here's the deal – any Telegram account that slides into your DMs out of the blue is a scam 99% of the time. They'll usually have some generic username with underscores or numbers, zero history in public channels, and they'll push you to pay within a few hours with some "limited time offer" or "special discount just for you." Honestly, they love sending you screenshots of "happy customers" – always check if those screenshots look like they were pulled from someone else's old post, or if the usernames are blurred in a suspicious way. Another big tell: they refuse to do anything outside Telegram. No forum presence, no public reviews you can verify, no escrow option. If they can't point you to a single thread or comment on a board where real people have vetted them, run.

Common scam patterns: You'll see the same script over and over, no joke. They take your money via crypto (usually Bitcoin or USDT), send you a "tracking number" that either never updates or leads to a fake weight package, then ghost you when you ask for a reship. Sometimes they'll string you along with "customs seized it, pay a reship fee" – that's another scam, customs doesn't email you privately for fees. The clever ones will even send a cheap card that looks okay from the front but has zero UV, wrong font, or core data that doesn't scan – so you think it's legit and vouch for them, then they disappear.

How to protect yourself: Stick to vendors that have been active on forums for at least a few months with consistent reviews. Never pay someone who DM'd you first – go find them yourself through trusted sources. Ask the vendor to post a public reply on a review thread with a specific phrase to prove they control the account. Use a burner identity for all communication (separate email, encrypted messaging). And please, whenever you get a random Telegram DM claiming they have "the best IDs at half the price," just block and report. Honestly, the good deals come from doing your homework in community channels, not from strangers sliding into your inbox.
