PSA for new members - thoughts?

Good catch. Never give out your password to anyone
Helpful as always
Hey everyone, just wanted to put this out there for the new folks — I've seen a weird account floating around the last couple days. It's got zero post history, joined yesterday, and already sliding into DMs pushing a “trusted vendor” they claim has the best holos in the game. No reviews, no sample pics, just a link and a sob story about a limited batch. Red flag city.
So here are a few concrete signals to watch for — accounts less than a week old that immediately offer deals, DMs that won't talk openly in a thread, and any request to move payment off-platform (especially to something like PayPal Friends & Family or straight crypto with no escrow). Also be suspicious if they refuse to post a verification photo with today's date and a handwritten note — legit sellers have no problem with that. If they get defensive or start pushing you to “hurry before the sale ends,” that's pressure tactic 101.
Scam patterns I've noticed repeat here — someone will clone a known member's name with a slight typo, then send you a DM saying they've got a “new batch” before their old account was even banned. Another common one is the “I'm quitting the scene so I'm liquidating my whole stash” post — that almost always ends with you sending money and getting nothing but an address to a closed PO box. Even if they've been around longer but suddenly sound desperate, pause and check their previous activity. Are they actually responding to questions or just copy-pasting the same pitch?
Honestly, best way to protect yourself — always check the member's post history and look for real interactions, not just announcements. Use the search function to see if anyone else has vouched for them in recent weeks. If something feels off, tag a mod or make a separate thread asking the community — don't rely on DMs alone. And for the love of everything, never click a link someone sends you out of the blue, even if it looks like a known vendor's site. Phishing clones are rampant.
Report that account if you can. The more reports a sketchy profile gets, the faster the mods can boot them. Stay sharp out there.
Got a DM pretending to be support asking for my order info and password. Obviously a scam
Real support never DMs you first
