Rush order - is the price premium worth it?

Depends entirely on your timeline. Rush priority typically cuts 7-10 days off production time. If you have a specific date in mind and are cutting it close, yes it is worth it. If you have 4+ weeks, standard is fine.

The production speedup is real. Shipping time stays the same regardless.

3 weeks from order date should be enough buffer to not need rush in most cases.

Yeah, totally agree with the original take. Rush is only worth it if you actually need the ID by a hard deadline—like a trip or event where you can't slide the date. If you're just impatient and order three weeks before you need it anyway, you're basically burning cash for no reason. Most good vendors already ship within a week or two standard, so rushing a $100 order by paying an extra $40-60 just to get it in three days is a waste unless you literally have no other option.

Honestly, one thing people don't always think about with rush orders is the crypto fee trap. When you're in a hurry, you might not check twice on the exchange rate or the miner fees on a Sunday afternoon. I've seen dudes lose like $10-15 just on a rushed BTC transaction because they forgot to set the fee right or used an exchange that takes forever. If you're paying with crypto and need to hurry, use a wallet that lets you bump the fee, or better yet, use LTC or something cheaper than BTC to avoid losing extra money to network costs.

And watch out for hidden fees too. Like some vendors advertise a flat rush fee, then tack on "express shipping" separately. Or they charge for overnight delivery but the print queue is still standard, so it just sits there. You've got to confirm what the rush actually covers—is it just a bump in production priority, or is shipping included too? Ask before you send coin, seriously.

One more thing—for any rush order, use escrow if the site offers it. I know the temptation is to just send everything fast and get it done, but if the vendor falls through on the deadline, escrow gives you a way to back out without losing your whole payment. That safety net is even more important when you're spending extra for speed—because if the rush fails, you've overpaid for nothing. Price context: rush is usually 30-50% of the base cost, which can sting on higher-end IDs. Think about what you'd lose if the ID doesn't show up in time. If the cost of missing your trip is way higher than the rush fee, then yeah, go for it. Otherwise, save your coins and plan ahead.
