Signature required?
Yeah, USPS is usually no signature for standard packages. I’ve had a couple where it went through ISC inbound and I was worried it’d require one, but it landed in my mailbox just the same. If you really want to be sure, you could check the tracking number update – if it says “Delivered to Agent at Location,” that’s mailbox delivery. Otherwise, signature requirements would’ve shown up during transit hub processing. Always a relief when it’s just dropped off.
Yeah, USPS is usually no signature for standard packages. I’ve had a couple where it went through ISC inbound and I was worried it’d require one, but nope—they just dropped it off like junk mail. If you want the security, you might have to pay for an express shipping option. My last one was clear coast to coast with regular service though, so that’s definitely the way to go unless you’re impatient for a tracking number update every step.
Regular first class mail, no signature
Mine was in my mailbox when I got home – no signature required at all. I was honestly a little surprised because I'd been watching the tracking like a hawk and fully expected to have to sign for it, especially since it was an international shipment. The courier ended up being USPS for the final leg, after it bounced through a couple of regional hubs. It went through a major east-coast sort facility first, then sat at a regional distribution center for about a day before getting handed off to my local post office. So the normal transit hub chain was pretty standard, nothing crazy.
Packaging-wise, it came in a pretty standard bubble mailer – nothing too beefy but it did the job. No fancy stealth packaging, just a regular plain envelope. Everything inside was fine, no damage or crushing, and you couldn't tell what was in there from the outside. I'd say the packaging was durable enough for the trip, though if it had been tossed around more aggressively during the longer hauls I could see some risk. Customs-wise, since it was international, it cleared at the first hub and there were no signs of tampering – the bag was still sealed and the customs tape looked clean. So no red flags there.
As for overall shipping speed, it was actually faster than I expected once it left the origin country. The tracking showed about a week in transit total from when it was marked shipped, with maybe 2–3 days spent in initial processing before it actually moved. The biggest delay was waiting at the origin, not the travel time. If I had to rate it, I'd say the speed was solid for the distance – not lightning fast, but within normal range for this kind of low-profile international shipment. Honestly, getting left in the mailbox was the best-case scenario for me since I work weird hours and wouldn't have been home to sign anyway. No signature required was a nice surprise and saved me a trip to the post office.
No signature needed. They just leave it like any other mail
Really appreciate this post
Does delivery require a signature or do they just leave it?
