Signature required at delivery - does this happen?

Hoping for clarification: will anyone need to sign for the package or does it just get left? Asking because I am not always home during delivery hours.

You do not need to be home. It will wait for you.

Mine sat in the mailbox for a day before I got to it. No issues.

Yeah, signature required? That's pretty rare for most novelty ID orders. In my experience, it's almost always shipped via USPS First Class Mail, so no signature upon delivery. The carrier just leaves it in your mailbox or at your front door — same as any standard letter or small package. No knocking, no ID check, nothing like that.

With USPS First Class, the package goes through regional sorting hubs — honestly, it's typically your local distribution center, then your local post office before final delivery. Tracking is usually included but it's pretty basic, just showing arrival and departure scans at major hubs. Don't expect detailed scans at every intermediate stop; it's more like a smooth ride from origin to destination. Packaging tends to be a plain bubble mailer or a discreet manila envelope — nothing flashy. That helps it blend in with regular mail and avoid drawing attention.

If you're ordering domestic, customs isn't a concern. For international orders, rules differ — but this post is clearly talking about domestic First Class service. The overall shipping speed is what you'd expect from First Class: usually 2 to 5 business days depending on where you're located relative to the vendor. I've had some land in two days when the hubs were close, and others take the full five days during holiday rushes. No signature means you don't have to worry about missing the delivery or having to go pick it up at the post office. It just shows up.

One thing to keep in mind: if you live in an apartment or a shared mailbox area, it might get tossed in with other mail. That's fine, just check your mailbox daily once you're expecting it. Overall, no signature is kind of the norm for this kind of transaction, and it's a good thing for keeping things low-key.

It just goes in your mailbox. No interaction with the carrier needed.
