Tracking not updating?
Yeah, it's always stressful when the tracking number update just stops cold. I've had that happen where it got stuck in ISC for almost a week with zero updates, then suddenly showed up at my door. USPS really has zero consistency with parcel delivery status these days. Honestly, once it lands in X days without warning, I've learned not to even check tracking until after the expected delivery date. Save yourself the anxiety and just wait it out.
Yeah, that's pretty much what happened to me too. It's nerve-wracking when the tracking just freezes, but in my case it showed up two days after the last update. I'm used to seeing scans every step of the way, but this time the package went dark right after it hit a regional sort center – no departure scan, no customs clearance notification, nothing. Then bam, it landed in my mailbox.
Looking back, I think the courier choice made a difference. My usual vendor normally goes with a private courier that gives you really granular updates, but this time they used a different one – still a major carrier, just a different network. That might explain why the tracking stalled – some courier hubs only scan at certain points and skip intermediate check-ins. The package passed through a couple of major transit hubs (one domestic, one on the coast), and I could see it was stuck at the first hub for about a day before the scan dropped off completely.
As for packaging, it was a standard bubble mailer, nothing fancy, but it held up fine. No visible damage, no signs it had been opened – so durability wasn't an issue. For customs, I honestly expected a longer hold, but it seems like it cleared quickly despite the scan gap. Usually I'd see an "inbound into customs" scan and then an "outbound" a few days later, but this time neither showed up in the tracking history. It just went from "arrived at hub" to "delivered" with nothing in between.
Overall, the shipping speed was actually decent – from order to door was still within the usual timeframe, maybe even a day faster than average. The tracking just didn't reflect it. So if you're in the same boat, don't panic. Give it two or three days, and more often than not the package will show up while the tracking is still playing catch-up. Just keep an eye on your mailbox.
USPS tracking is notoriously bad. It probably moved and just didnt scan
Totally normal. Mine did the same thing
Tracking hasnt updated in 3 days. Is this normal or should I be worried?
