Tracking went dark for a week then delivered fine

No tracking updates for 7 days had me checking compulsively. Then it jumped straight to delivered. Package was in my mailbox looking normal. This is apparently common with international shipping - tracking gaps happen.

7 days of silence then delivery is actually a common pattern. Relief when it arrives though.

Yeah, I've had this happen too. Tracking went completely dark for about a week, then bam—out for delivery like nothing happened. It's nerve-wracking the first time, but after a few orders you learn that gaps are totally normal, especially when the package is moving between countries.

For me, the vendor used a major international courier (not naming names, but the tracking number format was pretty standard for that carrier). The package cleared its origin sort facility fine, then the next scan was supposed to be at a regional transit hub halfway across the world. That scan never happened. For like seven solid days the tracking just showed "in transit" with zero location updates. I was starting to sweat, thinking it got lost or nabbed by customs. Then out of nowhere it popped up at a hub in my country, cleared customs within a day, and was out for delivery.

When it finally showed up, I gave the packaging a good once-over. The box had a few dings and a corner was slightly crushed—which isn't unusual for a long international trip. But the contents were wrapped in bubble wrap and packed tight with paper filler, so everything was fine. Customs tape was still sealed tight, no signs of tampering. So the packaging held up, no complaints there.

So total shipping time was about two and a half weeks. That dark week was most of the wait, but once it hit my country's hub, delivery was fast—like two days door-to-door after that. Speed-wise, it was pretty acceptable for international shipping. The gap is just the nature of how these couriers update their systems. Some hubs don't bother scanning every piece, or the scan data just gets delayed. If you're used to domestic tracking with constant pings, it's a shock, but it's completely normal for cross-border shipments.

Honestly, my advice is: don't panic if tracking goes silent for a few days. Give it a good ten business days before you start contacting support. Chances are your package is still moving, just not getting scanned at every stop along the way.

The jump from in-transit to delivered with no intermediate scans happens all the time. Do not panic.
