Tracking went dark for a week then delivered fine
The jump from in-transit to delivered with no intermediate scans happens all the time. Do not panic.
7 days of silence then delivery is actually a common pattern. Relief when it arrives though.
Yeah, I've had this exact thing happen more than a few times, honestly. My last order went completely dark for about seven days right after it left the origin country's distribution hub. One day it showed "departed sorting center" and then nothing for a week — no scan at the regional hub, no customs entry, nada. Then out of nowhere it popped up at my local post office ready for delivery.
The courier they used was a standard international priority service, not express, so tracking updates were pretty sparse once the package crossed borders. It hit a major transit hub on the West Coast about four days after shipping, then vanished. I'm pretty sure it sat in customs or in a container waiting to be processed. Some couriers batch-scan pallets, so individual packages don't get updates until they're actually sorted to the final carrier. That pretty much explains the week-long gap.
The packaging was a little beat up — the bubble mailer had scuffed corners, and the tape was starting to lift on one side — but the contents were still perfectly intact. Whoever packed it used a decent amount of bubble wrap and a rigid cardboard insert, so even with the extended hold and handling, nothing shifted. I've seen much worse packaging fall apart from shorter trips.
Honestly, customs was definitely the culprit here. I checked the postal service's own tracking tools and they showed "inbound into customs" for almost the whole gap, but the mainstream tracking just showed silence. That's pretty standard — customs can take anywhere from a few hours to two weeks depending on volume and staffing. No red flags, just a backlog.
So yeah, from order placement to delivery it was about 18 days, which is honestly normal for international shipping these days. The week-long tracking gap felt nerve-wracking, but once it cleared customs the final delivery was fast — maybe 2 days from sort facility to my door. If you're in the same boat, just be patient. As long as it's not stuck somewhere unusual for two weeks plus, it's almost always just customs taking their sweet time.
No tracking updates for 7 days had me checking compulsively. Then it jumped straight to delivered. Package was in my mailbox looking normal. This is apparently common with international shipping - tracking gaps happen.
