If you're running a reshipping setup where a package arrives at one address and you want to forward it domestically, USPS Click-N-Ship is a useful tool that most people don't think to use for this purpose.
What Click-N-Ship is
Click-N-Ship is USPS's online postage service. You enter the origin and destination addresses, select a mail class, pay online, and print a shipping label. You can then drop the labeled package at any USPS location or schedule a pickup. It's primarily marketed for businesses but anyone with a usps.com account can use it.
Why it's useful for domestic forwarding
When a package arrives at a reshipping address or a mail forwarding service, you have options for getting it to your actual address: pay the reshipping service to forward it (often expensive), or use Click-N-Ship to create your own label and hand the package off directly. If you're physically at the pickup location, the second option is almost always cheaper and faster.
Priority Mail is the most practical class for domestic forwarding of small packages — flat rate envelopes and small flat rate boxes cost $10-15 and include tracking with multiple scan events. For a card-sized package, the small flat rate box is overkill but the predictable price and included tracking are worth it.
What it doesn't do
Click-N-Ship doesn't let you change the destination of a package already in transit — you need the physical package in hand to relabel it. For packages that haven't been delivered yet, USPS Package Intercept is the tool for changing delivery destination, though it has limitations and costs more.
For straightforward reshipping — package delivered to address A, you want it at address B — Click-N-Ship is the lowest-cost domestic forwarding method available and requires no relationship with a reshipping service provider.
The USPS account required for Click-N-Ship is free to create and requires only a standard address for verification. The service allows label printing from any web browser with no monthly subscription or per-account fees beyond the postage itself. For occasional domestic reshipping needs, it functions as an on-demand service that costs nothing when not in use — a practical advantage over reshipping service subscriptions that charge monthly fees regardless of usage volume.
