Vendor disappeared after payment - community alert

posted by Juneyaka 6 months ago 502 views 3 comments

Multiple reports of orders placed with one operation going undelivered and communication going dark after payment. Community alert to avoid this vendor until further notice. Documentation and reports being gathered. Do your research before sending any payment anywhere.

Payment verification and community research before ordering protects everyone.

Thanks to the OP for flagging this. Honestly, it's a sad but familiar story — vendor goes ghost right after payment clears. That's exactly why we need to keep reporting and calling these out. If we let one slide, they'll just pop up under a new name and do it again.

So for anyone new reading this, here are some red flags I've learned to watch for. If a vendor is brand new with zero or only a handful of reviews, that's a gamble. Even more suspicious when their prices are noticeably lower than everyone else's — that's the lure, pretty much. Another big one is when they push hard for payment methods that leave you zero recourse, like certain crypto wallets or non-refundable gift cards. Legit vendors usually offer options with some layer of protection, even if it's just escrow through a trusted middleman.

Then there's the communication pattern. Early on they'll respond fast, almost too eager. But once the money lands, replies start slowing down, then stop completely. Or they'll give you a fake tracking number that never updates, or claim some "delay" that drags on forever. That's the exit scam script, tbh. Some of them build up a solid rep over weeks just to pull a big final haul and disappear. It's a pattern we've seen repeat way too many times.

Honestly, how do you protect yourself? Never pay more than you're willing to lose. I know that sounds obvious but people get excited. Stick to vendors who've been around for a while and have consistent feedback across multiple weeks or months. If the community has an escrow system, use it — it's not perfect but it's better than sending direct. Also, do your own research: search the vendor name here and on other forums. If you see whispers of non-delivery or delays, take them seriously. And always, always share your experience — good or bad — so the next person knows what's up. That's how we keep this community safe.

Multiple reports makes this pattern clear rather than a one-off complaint. Take it seriously.
