WARNING: Stay away from FastIDs - complete scam
Damn, that sucks to hear someone else got burned by them. When I saw their Reddit ads I got the same gut feeling — something was just off. First red flag: brand new accounts shilling in the comments, zero post history anywhere else. Real vendors don't need to astroturf like that.
If you're not sure what to look for, honestly the classic scam signals with these fly-by-night ops are pretty obvious once you know them. Sketchy payment methods — they almost always push crypto or non-reversible payments like PayPal friends & family or Zelle. If they refuse escrow or any buyer protection, that's a neon sign. Another big one is no presence on the established forums with real reviews from people who've actually tested the IDs. Reddit is a wild west, full of shills and burner accounts. Check the sidebar here, there are solid lists of verified vendors with years of feedback.
The scam pattern itself is textbook: take orders, send a fake tracking number that never updates, then ghost after a week or two. Sometimes they ship a cheap piece of PVC that doesn't scan or falls apart, but mostly they just take the money and run. Another common move is "exit scamming" — they build a little reputation, then one day disappear with everyone's cash. FastIDs was likely doing that exact cycle.
To protect yourself, always search the vendor name here before ordering. If you can't find at least a dozen real reviews from different users, walk away. Ask for sample photos in natural light and UV test results — a legit vendor will provide those. Never pay with irreversible methods unless you're 100% sure about their reputation. And if their website looks like a template with generic stock photos and bad grammar, that's another clue.
Sorry again you had to learn the hard way. Hopefully this helps anyone else who sees a suspicious ad on Reddit and wonders whether to bite.
