Concert ticket prices are insane - advice needed
Yeah, resale is absolutely brutal right now. I feel your pain more than you know. I've been trying to get tickets for a band I've been following for years, and honestly, every time I go to checkout on the primary sale, it's either a glitch or they're gone in seconds. Then you check the resale sites and the same tickets are listed at three or four times face value. It's insane.
What makes it worse, honestly, is the dynamic pricing stuff. One minute you're looking at a reasonable price, then after the first few seconds of the on-sale, it jumps up because of "high demand." And then the fees on top of that? It's like another ticket's worth of charges. I've had friends who waited in a virtual queue for hours only to get in and see nothing but platinum-priced seats left. Doesn't help that bots and resellers are running the show, and the venues and ticket platforms seem to do the bare minimum to stop them.
Honestly, the whole system feels rigged against actual fans. If you've got specific artists you're after, I've found that doing a little digging into fan club presales or credit card presales can sometimes give you a fighting chance. And if you can be flexible with the date, sometimes waiting until the day before or even day of the show can get you a last-minute drop from a desperate seller. It's not a perfect solution, but it's something. Anyway, I'm right there with you — it's rough out there.
Fees are the worst part. $50 ticket becomes $90
Try waiting until closer to the date. Prices drop sometimes
Trying to get tickets for summer concerts and the prices are crazy. Anyone else feel this?
